If the fellowship player has a card like Shadowplay (When a minion is played you may exert a Hobbit to exert the minion) in their support area and the Shadow player plays a minion (2 Vitality) with text that states when you play this minion exert it to do this action. What takes place 1st the exertion from Shadowplay or the Shadow player exerting their minion 1st? . Thanks for your help. |

The Shadowplay exertion. Free Peoples actions are always taken before Shadow actions. So, because the cards have the same activation text ("when a minion is played", "when you play this minion"), the Free Peoples action takes precedence. Exert the minion first. No special action! |

Actually, the rules state that when there are two actions that are triggered simultaneously, the free people’s player gets to choose the order that they are resolved in. So in most cases Shadowplay will come first thus preventing the shadow player from using the ability of his minion. |
