I don’t believe I’ve ever had my own DC thread, but I feel really compelled to make one now.
So yeah, I’ll be making whatever comes to mind, and you’re all free to comment however you wish!
And what better way to start than with a new keyword!?
Terror X (Each time this character is assigned to a skirmish, add X threats)
•Shelob, Terror of the Pass
Minion • Spider
Strength-8
Vitality-8
Roaming-8
Enduring. Terror 2. To play, spot 3 cards.
Skirmish: Discard 3 of your cards from play to make Shelob strength +2. If she wins the skirmish, add a threat.
I didn’t specify past ’character’ in the keyword description because it *could* be used for the Gondor Wraiths.
•King of the Dead, Servant of Dread
Companion • Wraith
Strength-7
Vitality-4
Resistance-0
Enduring. Terror 1. To play, add a threat.
King of the Dead’s resistance may not be spotted.
Each time King of the Dead wins a skirmish, you may remove a threat to discard a minion not assigned to a skirmish.
I tried bringing the Wraiths up to speed with resistance, but at the same time keeping things realistic. The Wraiths have no way to possess the Ring, so their resistance is null and void. Hopefully that bit about not being spotted would protect the King from being a burden to the FP player (if you have a better way to word it, please tell me!). |

•Lurtz, Fierce Fighter
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength-13
Vitality-3
Roaming-5
Fierce.
At the end of Lurtz’s skirmish, return any events you played during that skirmish to your hand.
How do you like him? |

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. |

Sweet!
Most Uruks have damage bonuses though, and Lurtz probably shouldn’t be an exception. Only problem is, with damage +1, fierce, and his ability, he’d be too good. Maybe you could pull it off by adding a cost to Lurtz’s ability. |

To be honest, I was in so much of a rush to make and post it, I flat forgot about the Damage bonus.
But I have an idea.
•Lurtz, Fierce Fighter
Minion • Uruk-hai
Strength-13
Vitality-3
Roaming-5
Fierce.
At the end of Lurtz’s skirmish, if you played at least 2 events during his skirmish, make Lurtz damage +1 until the regroup phase and return any events played during his skirmish to your hand.
Eh? |

Nice, although I think you would have to change it to say "Each time Lurtz wins a skirmish", so that the damage bonus worked for the first skirmish. Unless you only wanted it for the fierce skirmish... which would actually be kinda cool. |

I wanted it to work only for the fierce skirmish. |

•Gandalf’s Staff, Unveiled Once More
Artifact • Staff
Vitality +1
Bearer must be Gandalf.
If a threat is about to be added, you may play this from your hand to prevent that and to exert a minion.
Regroup: Exert Gandalf to return this to your hand.
And here’s a little something to help the Gandalf being released in RoS (yeah, the one *I* created. Ha!).
•Revelation
Condition • Support Area
Each time you play a card from your draw deck or discard pile, you may heal a companion twice.
Response: If you play a artifact, possession, or follower outside of the fellowship phase, discard this condition to reveal an opponent’s hand. Discard a revealed Shadow card.
That one’s probably a tad on the powerful side, but since only a select few cards can utilize its abilities, I figured it could be good.
But while we’re on the idea of Gandalf cards skipping out of the mainstream times of play...
•Gwaihir, Lord of Eagles
Follower
Strength +2
Aid -
You may play this anytime you could play an assignment or skirmish event.
When you play this, you may immediately transfer it to a companion.
If bearer wins his or her skirmish, you may return this to your hand to exert a minion twice.
Note that I am, currently, very bad at making followers. Hopefully this one is all right. |
