Yah, but Bill’s normally played at the early sites anyway.

Also, Bold Easterling or Last Days is nowhere near a guarantee. Any decent Elven archery deck will be able to smash Easterling with arrows, and just smack a few copies of Seclusion in there to take care of Last Days. Put in Elven Rope to get rid of Ferny if he’s played in the Shadow phase, and there you have it.

Don’t forget about Pavise... that card should never have been invented.

What kind of Ferny deck are you talking about?? IMO, the best Ferny deck is most effective after you control 3 sites, which you obviously can’t do until site 4, which again couldn’t be called early.
I'm not stupid. I'm just unlucky when I'm thinking.

Hmm...grr...I didn’t think of Pavise on someone other than Ferny.

And with Countless Companies, Pavise can be played at every site. At least Countless Companies can be discarded by Seclusion, but that means that you’re not discarding a copy of Last Days or Stragglers.

Aragorn, Thorongil can hurt Bill easily, even if he does have a Pavise.
All cards do what they say.

Unless Last Days or Bold Easterling brings him out after Maneuver...which is always possible.

I’ve looked at it, and, Merrick_Hale, you’re right. Shadowplay is the answer to Ferny. Now all you have to do is beat him, since he can’t kill the RB.

I agree, shadowplay is the easy answer to Ferny. But that means that most decks won’t have an easy answer. Blowing up last days is a good idea, but I know that if I see elves I will wait and pull it in the manuever with the Mouth. Mouth + pavise = several last days. I bet I can pull more copies with the mouth that you have ways to get rid of it that turn. you just have to be sure you can kill them that turn.
Since the Men culture has no way to get fid of Shadowplay, it seems the obvious answer...if you have hobbits...

Yah, lotsa Last Days...

I just realized: if Mouth of Sauron only pulls Pavise in Maneuver, couldn’t you just wound Mouth to death in maneuver...or at least exhaust him so he can’t play Pavise?
