look through your deck, drop several of your hobbit companions. (the ones you don’t need as much)

go through your events, and look for the cards that need to spot certain culture companions to make them work, and drop the ones that don’t have the right companions to make them work.

your gandalf side is the hardest to trim down, look through your events and say " this one isn’t one of the ones i need the most", and drop the ones you don’t need. keep all the possessions though.

hope this helps,
ingold

First of all, your sites all have to be from Shadows block. You are not allowed to combine sites from different blocks.

Your deck is WAY too big. You will never be able to draw the cards you need. Also, you shouldn’t combine two Shadow cultures unless they complement each other well (for example, Gollum combines well with the Ringwraith culture, and Siege Troops can work in Dunland decks). Cut your FP and Shadow sides to around 34 cards each.

Your FP side is too defocused. You will have no chance against even the most basic Shadow side.

The key to making any sort of deck is to focus what you want your deck to do. You can’t just have a random jumble of cards and expect it to do well.

Here is a good Shadow side using the Sauron culture, for example:

2x *Tower Walkway(7C315)
3x *Troop Tower(7R316)
2x Great Siege-towers(7U281)
2x *Gorgoroth Troop(7R279)
3x *Gothmog, Lieutenant of Morgul(10R88)
1x *Sauron, The Lord of the Rings(9R+4Cool
2x *Troll of Gorgoroth, Abomination of Sauron(8R108)
2x Gorgoroth Agitator(8U94)
2x Gorgoroth Berserker(8R96)
3x Gorgoroth Keeper(10C86)
3x Gorgoroth Swarm(10C87)
1x Great Hill Troll(8C102)
1x Olog-Hai of Mordor(8R105)
3x Siege Troop(8C106)
2x *Gothmog’s Warg(10R89)
2x *Grond, Hammer of the Underworld(8R103)

This deck focuses on controlling sites to make your minions stronger and cheaper. A good deck only has 1 or 2 themes; that way you won’t be stuck if you draw different cards from each of your many themes.

And here is a good FP card that focuses on Hobbits:

1x *Tom Bombadil, The Master(9R+52)
1x *Mithil-coat, Dwarf-mail(13R153)
1x *Phial of Galadriel, The Light of Earendil(13155)
1x *Bilbo, Aged Ring-bearer(13R142)
1x *Frodo, Frenzied Fighter(13R149)
1x *A Light in his Mind(10U108)
2x *Humble Homestead(13R152)
1x *The Tale of the Great Ring(10U116)
4x A Promise(12R128)
4x Sudden Fury(12U132)
3x Concerning Hobbits(11S161)
4x No Visitors(15C150)
2x *Daddy Twofoot, Next-door Neighbor(13U144)
1x *Frodo Gamgee, Son of Samwise(13U150)
1x *Hobbiton Farmer, Lover of Pipeweed(15C147)
1x *Pallando, Far-travelling One(13R37)
1x *The Gaffer, Master Gardener(13U151)
1x *Sting, Weapon of Heritage(11R173)
2x Hobbit Sword(15C145)
2x Salt from the Shire(11R171)

Note: These two halves aren’t part of the same deck, which is why the FP deck is a bit larger.

This FP focuses on skirmish canceling, and it also has a backup ability to fight in case it’s needed.

As you can see, focused decks do much better than unfocused decks.

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

If you want to make a Raider deck, focus on one of their three subcultures: Easterlings, Southrons and Corsairs.

Easterlings like burdens, so cards like Small Hope, Easterling Captain, Easterling Polearm, Easterling Axeman, Raider Bow and Red Wrath are good.

Southrons are good at wounding, being fierce and getting high strength. One good combination is Desert Lord with Seasoned Leader.

Corsairs can swarm, get high strength, and do all sorts of tricks. Castamir of Umbar, Corsair Marauder, Corsair Ruffian, Black Sails of Umbar, Corsair War Galley, Ships of Great Draught, Black Numenorean and Wind That Sped Ships are the crucial cards.

Here’s some general advice:

Go through each card and ask yourself whether you could cope if, during the course of the game, that certain card did not come up at all. The more cards you have, the more likely you won’t see a certain card. If there are any critical cards that you’ve only got one of, you are in real trouble with such a large deck.

It’s a common problem to have so many great cards that you think would all make a deck good and then end up with 40 cards per side or more. There’s virtually no chance they will all come up during a game, so you need to then start pruning. With only 8 sites to play minions, you can look at the site number and twilight cost of your minions to get a rough idea of how many you can play in a single game. My general rule is about 20 minions out of 30 cards, giving you roughly three minions per site. If you are going for a swarm, you obviously need more. If your minions are very expensive, you will need less, unless you are stocking multiple copies of some and have ways of cycling cards out of your hand.
