Completing the Card Database
« on: July 08, 2008, 03:14:14 PM »
Well, I haven't had much time to spend browsing TLHH the last week or so... things have been busy. However, I have some great news: HawkeyeSPF and Shieldmaiden have taken it upon themselves to scan the last remaining cards that are not in the database! (They should each get a hefty boost in gold... what do you all think?) :D Aside from foreign language cards, the database will soon be complete! Within the next "X" weeks, I will add:

  • D promos
  • 0P118-129
  • T&D Masterworks cards
  • Oversized cards
  • RF cards

Each scan takes me about 10-15 minutes to process, as I have to crop the card, rotate it, adjust brightness/contrast, sharpen, fix the border, and resize it to three different sizes. Then I have to upload the images and add the card to the database and autolink. It's somewhat slow going but it works best if I do it in batches.

If anyone wants to help, I still need some proofreading done. Specificially:

  • Sites from all sets need their gametext checked.
  • Promo cards from set 0 need their gametext checked.
  • Each individual set index needs to be cross-checked with D's indexes. Card titles, rarity, uniqueness, etc. (Keep in mind that D's index has some mistakes... when in doubt, check the card).

If you would like to help, post here and PM me any typos you find! I may not be on every day but I will be around. :)

I have noticed a mistake. Hunters, card # 16 is an unc and not a rare. The elven artifact.

Looked through the fellowship sites. Only 2 errors:

1) On 0P6 (Balin's Tomb promo) there should be a note saying that its gametext is a clarification, as there is on Balin's Tomb.

2) On 1U338 (Ford of Bruinen) it's written "?5" instead of "-5".

Thanks Thran! I've fixed both problems on my end and it should go "live" sometime soon.

It's gone live! EDIT: Well, it was fixed earlier today, but I just clicked on the above links and they've reverted.

I also checked the Two Towers sites. Only mistake I found was on 5U118 (Hornburg Wall) where it says site "6T" but should say "7T".
