Take a look at this poster and let me know what you guys think.

Mind you, that website isn't actually up yet. I'm just working on my promotional material now. I do own the domain name though and will be starting work on the site shortly.

Amazing.

Isn't that quote "The board is set and the pieces are moving" though? If so, I would add the and after the first set of ellipses.

no "and" if I'm not mistaken sharkey.

On the poster, it really good! The only one thing I would do to it is put an "s" in format so it's formats.

This is a fantastic example of the dysfunctions of any proposed Players' Committee. Here's the third(?) different "Play our game" poster to show up and another proposed website.

I'm sorry, but this stuff is absolutely hilarious to me.

To me it just shows how many people want something to happen and are also willing to do things themselves if that's what it takes.

I don't see that as a bad thing.

Anyway, if this shows anything else, it's that somebody has to step up and take control and lead things and take responsibility for keeping everybody and everything on track. They need to be flexible to the needs and wants of the existing community and also have the foresight to know what will be best for the game and community in the near and far future. It's a BIG job. I don't know that anybody so far is or isn't that person, but I know that I'm not that person.

For example, I have a great respect for him, so I'd nominate GE - if he'd be interested. I think that another great nominee would be Smeagollum.

Just some thoughts.

You are clearly a "glass half full" person. I am clearly a "#$&*@! the glass and pour me another drink" person.

Edit: Of course, I do have quite a bit of respect for Heije. Hear that, buddy? More recognition than you can handle!

You are spot on there Hawkeye.

If we keep talking about it the right person might just come along. However, I don't think any active member of this site is going to step up and do it. It is fair to assume they would have already given this has been discussed for the last 18 months or so (perhaps longer).

As yet the PC does not exist. So it is fair to assume any activity that works towards establishing the PC will be dysfunctional. Dysfunctional or not, this section of the message board has been active less than 12 months and is almost on the the top ten most popular boards on this site. I guess that shows the interest is there.

The website on the poster would just be for our local/regional play group. That's all I really care about at this point. I'm just trying to promote the game in my area. Call it laughable if you want, but I'd rather do something positive than be critical and pessimistic.

Wow, thanks Hawk, thanks Ket. I am truely honored. As for now, I am not that person, since I have a gazillion things to do. And furthermore, I think I am more of a brainstorm person. I know my qualities, but I am also very aware of my incapabilities.

About the PC, I am somewhere caught in the middle. At one side I like the initiatives taken and I have deep love for this game. On the other side, I am quite satisfied the way things are right now. Also I share some of Ket's cynism, because in relative sense, we are a very, very small community. So there I also share some of Ket's thoughts: teach lotr in your own surroundings, lead them here.

So I agree with Ket a little more....that is of course, without al the negativity :D

Aw, thanks GE. Such touching words really bring warmth to my heart and mass to my ego.

What is dispersed in a global world? Haha. How is it possible that your ego defies the laws of gravity? You shouldn't be able to walk at all.....
