This is a deck that I've been playing with that's rather competitive and is fun to play. No loops, no OP combos/cards, just good clean fun.

Saruman, Servant of SauronStrategy:
Bid 0. You'll have fairly low resistance to start. Mulligan for Gandalf, unless you have a great shadow hand. If you can, go first and play
the Prancing Pony, if not, play it asap. Use Gamling and Éomer to play your
followers in this priority order:
Pallando,
Meneldor,
Alatar,
Gwaihir, and
Radagast. Kill off the
dudes afterward. Your first burn target will be the prowler, unless you managed to get Ghan out. You'll want Anduril, Narsil, and the Throne first. After that, any token condition will do.
The binding ring can pull
Narya or The
Ring of Barahir as needed, optimally when moving into
Imladris. After that, try to play
Falls of Rauros in region 2, at the very least at the sanctuary with Anduril. After that, just play your hand naturally. Jarnsmid helps against heavy burdening, Narsil and the Throne deal with possessions, and GrimB recycles events. Be wary of
Demon of Might, though.
New Awakened can toss
Deceit with enough vitality out there, leaving their conditions vulnerable to
Deep in Thought. Try to spam
Traveled Leader/ Speak Friend with
Caras Galadhon against Tentacles. Nazgûl corruption can be a threat, but Jarnsmid and your other burden removal should stave them off.
The Shadow is a meld of your typical
Sudden Strike shadow and a Threatgûl build. Essentially, use
Moving this Way and
Old Villain to cycle, kill Gandy with
TGAT and
Black Shadow, harass Gondor and Dwarves with Nertea, and use
Sudden Strike,
ESF, and your simplified toolkit to fetch what's needed.
