i agree with muadib.
and it depends, as always at a free market, how much you opponent is willed to pay for his needs.

i e.g. sold my Saruman, SoS for US$ 52,00 and a foil Anduril, Stwb for US$ 26,00 + normal version!

Any idea on what T&D MW foils are going for currently?  Specifically looking at Beorning Axe 18O1.

Beorning Axe? I think this is one of the most seeked Masterworks, so I don't expect getting one for less than 80 bucks. Which really is too much for me to pay, but still others might consider pay that much for the card.

There's a buy it now on ebay for $80. Ebay's prices are way over the top, however, so I'd put the worth at around $65-$70.

I think $50.00 for any hunters block masterworks is good money, any more than that is bonus.

that's true for normal Masterworks, but as Beorning Axe is already worth about 25-30 US$ unfoiled, it's probably the hardest-to-find Masterworks from T&D, thus the most valuable one.

RoS MWs are the most expensive ($60 on average, with some notable exceptions breaking the $100 mark... e.g.17O1, 17O4 and 17O6). They used to be extremely rare, but are surfacing more often now. Maybe people try to cash in their collections now in times of economic crisis.

T&D MWs are pretty much in the $30 range (notable exceptions being 18O1 and 18O2). When I look at this set's MWs, I cannot help but feel a bit let down. If there had been MW versions of Gil-galad, Faramir, or Glorfindel, it would have been MUCH more attractive. Who needs MW versions of Pull of the Ring, Rohirrim Diadem, Crown of Gondor, Denethor's Sword etc? A Dwarven MW was overdue and was still omitted.

TH MWs are all over the place. It is, by far the most attractive MW set, but while you can get some MWs for cheap (15O3), others are just a pain to collect (15O6 anyone?). $30-$100 seems to be the range on these ones. This is, however, the most worthwhile MW set to collect in Hunters block (as is the RF set, for that matter...).

Beorning Axe (O) is cool. As are Radagast's Herb Bag (O) and Watcher at Sarn Ford, Ranger of the North (O). But the others... true they're not really awesome. As for cards like 17O4, they have the same base value as Beorning Axe when non-foiled, so I think Beorning Axe (O) should be worth at least 60 bucks.

As for Hunters, there are really like 2 categories: cards like (15O1), (15O4) and (15O6) being in the first one, whilst cards like (15O7), that aren't even good cards to play (only the fact that they're Nazgul makes them interesting to me) aren't worth that much at the moment. But we'll see. Maybe one day, even those "crap" Masterworks will be worth 100$. Would you have ever imagined that Ring of Doom (foil) could become that much worth? He's ben going for 15 bucks back then when Hunters was released.

Ha! If that ever happened, I'd be the first to sell my 15O7.

I would say that most of the old stock of cards has been dumped on the market. Collectors have been gobbeling up as much as they needed to complete their collections. Business people are now trying to cash in on the hype.

When the dust settles, I am sure you will have a pretty similar situation like with Star Trek First Edition, where prices have been going up across the board over the last couple of years. Fewer and fewer people dump their collections and it becomes harder, i.e. more expensive, to get the harder-to-get cards.

With WTG no longer auctioning off foil and non-foil sets of pretty much every set except for hunters block you keep seeing the same lame listings of either crap or over-priced hunters cards.

So, one day these crap MWs will probably be worth $100, but rather in 10 years than in 1 year.

BTW, to keep in line with the thread theme. How much would you value an 0D7 Ordnance Grunt?

30- 40 US$ would be my guess, but as there's no one on ebay, some might spend more for it.

What would you estimate the value of the following to be:

1R50 Legolas, Greenleaf FOIL
1R83 Servant Of The Secret Fire FOIL

I'd suggest $10 each, but $12 or $13 tops.

Really?  Only $10 for Greenleaf?  Aside from the Ring and maybe Goblin Armory I'd think Greenleaf is the most desired foil from FOTR and would be worth a bit more.

Greenleaf isn't in the top 10 most desired FotR cards.

And the fact that Greenleaf (P) is readily available...well, SotSF would be the more valuable of the two.
-wtk

I would have to disagree on both counts.  Greenleaf is splashable in a variety of decks (including the best 2 fellowship block decks and 2 of the 3 best movie block decks).  SotSF is definitely good, but even taking into account that you want 3 or 4 in a deck it was never played nearly as much as Greenleaf.  Also, I've never met anyone who wouldn't rather have the real Greenleaf foil over the P version.
