« on: August 12, 2011, 05:41:04 AM »
I have been trying to build a FOTR 9 walkers wound deck. These are the cards that made the first cut. Tell me what you think and let me know of any decks which already exist so I may compare and contrast.

frodo ra
gimli sog
gimli's battle axe
legolas greenleaf
aragorn rotn
aragorn's bow
ranger sword
boromir lord of gondor
blade of gondor
frying pan (I can't remember of this is legal in fotr block)
sam soh
merry fotb
pippin (not sure which one will work)
Gandalf grey pilgrim
armor
hobbit sword play
paths

I would definately go for Friend of the Shirefolk, since he will have maximum strength. Also, wound prevention would be recommended, since LoM is lurking around. Hobbit sword play is worthless I guess, since with 9 comps, there will be plenty twilight. I would go with pipeweed because I love it, but it has so much good sides. It are possessions, so hard to get rid off, they cycle and they do all you want them to do. Healing, removing burden etc. Also, I would pick the heal Gorn, since with that many companions who needs an extra defender? Servant of the Secret Fire for sure. Merry, Friend to Sam will help you win skirmishes, rather than him winning for you.

good call on the gorn. That was another idea I had. Gorn sig deck using no mere ranger and voice of rauros. That would obviously need lots of cycling since it would be pretty skirmish focused.

something like

frodo, ra
sam, soh
gorn, kie
boromir, lord of gondor
gimli, dwarf of erebor
legolas, son of thanduril (I suppose I could use greenleaf instead)
gandalf, grey pilgrim
weapons for all
armor
sleep caradrhas
intimidate
no mere ranger
voice of rauros
servant of the secret fire
strength of spirit (maybe)

eeew on the no mere ranger! That is an event! Servant is way better and with might of Numenor and indeed strength of spirit you can give merry's strength to everyone. With a hobbit sword he is strength 5. Sorry, but I realy dislike the no mere ranger.

if only hobbit sword play were a condition... then it might be useful.

Yeah, No mere ranger would have made a great condition. Especially since they already have trust me as you once did
