The Beorning Axe
«

I tried to search this with little success, but does anybody know of a way to get the
Beorning Axe
out quickly to play on
Grimbeorn
. And before anyone mentions the obvious... no I do not have 4 copies to play to get it up quicker that way, I only have one... or I should say I am finally getting one. :-) And no I do not have any copies of saved by the fire at all.
Unlike
Boromir Proud and Noble Man
who can pull out his own weapon I can not think of anyway to search through the deck to get this Axe. Luck is usually not on my side when it comes to getting cards up in my opening hand I really want quickly, especially when I only have one copy of a card. Thanks in advance for any thoughts to this matter.

You can discard your deck rapidly and use a card such as
Final Account
to bring it up from the discard pile. The
culture has many easy ways to mill through the draw deck in expanded, but the best would be
Long-stemmed Pipe
. Alternatively, in a multi-cultural deck you could use
's
Weapon Store
or
Our Inspiration
, or
's
Courtesy of My Hall
or
Preparations
and
Dwarven Foresight
to fish it back.

Thanks Phallen .. my answer I believe in what you wrote is
Long Stemmed Pipe
. That pulls it out of my draw deck and into the Discard pile, only thing better would have been pulling it out of my draw deck and into my hand or to play. But I am sure no such luck there. Very similar to what
Simbelmyne
does. Unfortunately that card only works for Rohan

With
Long Stemmed Pipe
, you can use
On Your Doorstep
to put it on the top of the deck, and any drawing tool to, well, finally draw it.
Another way to grab the Axe soon is using
Deagol, Fateful Finder
.

Thanks Durin's Heir, I had forgot about
Deagol, Fateful Finder
And even
On Your Doorstep
is a good card like you said with
Long Stemmed Pipe
. All the above suggestions are great but unfortunately I need to purchase them, I have none. But since I want the Axe up quickly I will get them.

You're welcome!
On Your Doorstep
works marvels if you also pack many copies of
Barliman Butterbur PPP
. Allows you to recover key cards that were discarded either by your opponent, or by yourself (like
Deagol
,
There and Back Again
, pipes, a FP condition that was swept along with the evil ones by
Sleep Caradhras
/Grown Suddenly Tall...).
You can then use
Ottar
,
Risk A Little Light
or play
Ship of Smoke
(or another pipeweed if it's already in play) to finally draw it. To heal
Ottar
and Barliman you can use
Mithlond
(and even abuse it with Gandalf's classic site manipulation:
Traveled Leader
&
Speak Friend and Enter
).

Durin's Heir Quick Question. With sites like
Mithlond
or I suppose other great sites there is no way to have 2 or 3 or 4 copies and have them all be used? in other words does not all 9 sites have to be different? No way to have duplicuts

Comprehensive Rulebook ->

OK thanks Phallen and Enabran. I saw where it said each site must be different.I believe I knew that with the actual numbered sites, but when it came to the new shadow sites ( I believe they are called, without the number on the left side) I just was not sure. Thank you both so much.
