So how many people use lackey? When i go on there are lots of Magic games but no one seems to be playing LOTR. if you dont have lackey i would seriously recommend getting it. So i have someone to play with.

Most people play SdA or GCCG. GCCG is superior to all other platforms for playing LOTR.

Yeah, you might want to try GCCG, it has a lot of LOTR players on it, and I think that there is even tournaments going on in it.
Here's the link to download it:

I can't stand the GCCG layout or hot keys. Its unattractive and hard to use, imo. SDA is very intuitive though harder to connect with others.

I find gccg interface and layout very intuitive and user-friednly, guess it's just a matter of old habits when you're trying one program after using another for a long time. Of course, I can't compare it to SDa, since I tried it many times, but never was able to connect to anyone.

Gaaaah!
I tried to get GCCG and following the instructions from this site i got to the bit where you need to input a new username. But then what? i put in a username press enter and nothing happens. the tutorial said to refresh it but when i do that it tells me i need to enter a username again. Gaaah!
Has anyone else had this problem? Or does the system just hate me.
Ill say it once again: gaaaah!
