Getting rid of all my cards...
« on: February 03, 2010, 02:44:56 PM »
Hi,

I played quite a lot for the first few years of the game, but since then I haven't touched any of my cards, so I figure I should probably get rid of them. I'm not looking to trade, as I don't play LotR anymore (mostly Magic these days), so I didn't want to post in the trades section. Does anybody have any advice on how to find a good home for a small-ish collection? I'm not going to post a complete list here, but I've got 400+ rares, mostly from the first few sets, with some from sets 4-6 and a few from 7,8 and 10. I also have 90+ of the Reflections foils including some of the R+ ones, 22 of the countdown collection cards and around 50 tengwar cards. I have quite a lot of duplicates in the rares - sets of 3 or 4 of quite a few of the ones I thought were good back then anyway  ;)

There are a few (no more than a dozen or so I reckon) foils in amongst the rares too. Of course, I have the number of commons/uncommons you'd expect to go with this many rares too. Pretty sure almost all of the cards are Mint/Near Mint condition.

I'm based in the UK (Croydon area), and I don't use eBay (cancelled my account after eBay were useless and refuse to deal with them again)... What do you think is the best bet for getting rid of these cards? Any chances of me actually getting anything in return for them?

Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

I'm not going to post a complete list here

Without a list it will be hard for people to know how much $ to pay for your collection.
On the other hand it could be fun to buy 100's of rares and not know which ones until they arrive (but I know I wouldn't pay very much if I didn't know exactly what for)

If you want to get maximum value for your cards I would suggest posting a list in esgaroth marketplace with all cards listed and how much you want for them. (Or resolve your differences with ebay) :)

Or just POST them in the Esgaroth Marketplace, I would be willing to trade them for some of my MtG cards, if you're interested, I'm posting them by now...

How much are you willing to sell them for?

If it's likely there are people who'll trade MtG for LotR cards, then I may actually be able to make some trades after all. I'll sort them and get a list up in the marketplace tonight (local time :) ).

I can't afford to be posting/mailing too many things out at the moment (especially international), but if I can make a few good trades that'd make it worth it.
