Promise Elves and Dunland Rush
« on: September 03, 2010, 01:07:11 PM »
This is my first time posting a deck, I just exported it from Zorbec's, so feel free to give tips on presentation.  New deck I built about a week ago, very simple but effective.  Hobbits and Elves effectively choke while building strength.  FP goes first, but the point is to enable Dunland to grab at least one site on the first turn.  Deck is about 7/9 right now, almost entirely shadow kills.  No Retreat forcing them to move through Site 6 and wounding them with the First Circle is just gold.  Always hard to kill Frodo and Sam with A Promise.  Elves are there for early strength, condition removal, and to play Glimpse of Fate, which can still be used after they die.

Well, I played against this deck. Freeps did a good job and I don't think anything has to be said about dunland.

Do you really need 3 Hobbit Swords and Sting? I think you can remove at least 1 Hobbit Sword for some elven pump maybe. Consider even a copy or 2 of The Shire Countryside to help with the healing.

My suggestion:

remove:
1x Hobbit Intuition
1x Hobbit Sword
1x Company of Archers

add:
2x Shire Countryside
1x A light in his mind

I base this on the game we played. Your freeps are good, but I don't think they can run and survive a lot. And my shadow wasn't the wounding type and still kept you pretty exhausted. And if you do face a wounding shadow, I think you might be in trouble. Extra healing would help a long way.
Some days you're the statue, and some days you're the pigeon.

I like it.  I don't know if you need 4x Hill Tribe if you already have 4x Freca.  Is there a better minion you could add?

I dunno, maybe 3x Freca and 3x Hillman Tribe. I'd definitely add Constantly threatening, as you're running No Retreat, maybe even over ready to fall.

I have been thinking about a site control swarm with Gorgoroth Keeper, Uruk Besieger and Orc Captain to pile on tons of minions
"The rule of Gondor is mine!"

and how would you control Sites? Siege Troop and Gothmogs Warg? Attack on Helm's Deep with Down to the Last Child? I also tried that a lot of times, and Freca really seems like the best way.
