Hey all,  a few of us SWCCG types got nostalgic about this awesome game, and are planning on running a tournament as a side event at the World Championships for Star Wars CCG.  If anyone wants to come, we'd love to have you :)

Here is the thread with the information.  The current plan is for it to be a Movie Block format tournament, but we aren't 100% sure if we want to include/exclude Reflections (it seems there is some debate as to whether or not it is 'usually' included) and/or if we want to ban Galadriel, LR.

Hope some of you can make it!

I'm planning on attending, with my 2 brothers. Hopefully we can fit into the busy vacation schedule.

A US tournament! Woot! Any of the other DC guys interested?

I may attend. We'll reevaluate the situation closer to the event. But it sounds like a good idea and I have a lot of friends in Philly I could crash with.

I'm the person who asked Chris (the SW tournament advocate) if we can do the event and I will be running it.

We are going to do movie block as defined in Lord of the Rings Online and the forum titled "Movie Block Definition and X-list" on Last Homely House.  We are going to use to that definition and include Reflections and use the posted X-list, with the possible addition of Galadriel, Lady Redeemed and/or Under foot to the x-list (I'll probably set up a poll about those two cards once we get a feel for how many people are coming - when I do that I'll post a link here).

Depending on how many people commit to coming and what the interest level is, I will also look into getting some prize support.

It should be a lot of fun and I hope we can get a good turn out.  I really miss the days of 30 person LOTR tournaments (which we had consistently for PSQs and TOCs in Texas from ROTK through Mt. Doom).

I'm interested in that too.

I wish I could make it up that far, but that is a long drive from NC  :)  Good luck up there in Philly though!

Nothing is definitely going to be banned, but a few people were concerned about the stupid southron swarm deck that used Haradwaith to guarantee initiative at site 4 on the king site path and multiple copies of Under Foot to keep reconciling your hand and get out 10-14 minions at site 4.  It can set it up pretty consistently and is just silly.

But, we would put it to a vote first if people are really concerned about it.  I'm hoping for some more feedback about Galadriel LR and Under Foot over the next month or so to see if it's just one or two people or if it's multiple people who are concerned.

Screw that. I dare everyone to play Under Foot decks.

It is probably in everyone's best interest to ban Galadriel, Lady Redeemed.
