Twin brothers

so i have one question about the brothers, can i start with both and glorfindel ??
im prety sure that i dont, but some friends tell me i can, cuz when i play the second brother the both total twlight cust is now 2 and i can play glorfindel.....
i think they are wrong but i dont know how to explain.or i am wrong??
dont know if i was clear

You are right.

Thing is you have 4 twilight tokens to "spend". You play first brother, you spend 3. You play the second one, you spend 1. That's it. You can't spend anymore. "Spending" is the key here.

no the 1st costs full price and you spot the 1st one to reduce the 2nd ones twilight. Thus the 1st brother cost 3 as he is played and the 2nd cost 1 as he is played costing 4 total. Hope that helps.

The key is, twilight costs are only reduced as a card comes into play, so modifiers do not apply to cards in play.
