The Lord of the Rings on Blu-Ray
« on: September 26, 2011, 10:43:08 PM »
My wife and I just finished watching the extended edition of the Lord of the Rings on Blu-Ray, and it was delicious. I had never realised that when Aragorn is at Dunharrow, looking down the Paths of the Dead for the first time, he actually see's the King of the Dead.

I'm going to watch it in the nearby weeks, so I am very, very curious!

What special features come on the Blu Ray? Is it the same stuff that's on the extended editions?

Pretty sure it's the same extras that are on the standard def extended deluxe versions.  I'd love to pick it up as I'm sure it would look very tasty on my 60" plasma (yes I spoil myself sometimes... SPOIL, not soil xD), but there are just too many other items to purchase instead, and not quite enough $$ to go around.  I'm sure I'll eventually get it, but for now the standard def versions looks pretty darn good when upconverted.

It also contains the full documentary that Peter Jackson had commissioned to chronicle the movie from start to finish.
