I had fought them off for a long time, but not forever.

Eventually GarrisonOfGondor and his fellow Officers, as well as some fed-up civilian goons, had wrestled me down and wrested my axe from my hands, the murder weapon in the deaths of bibfortuna25, Kralik, and sickofpalantirs.

HE had helped in the end. Unable to reach my pills, that blasted do-gooder had wrestled back control and stopped fighting, allowing us BOTH to be captured.

My last words, possibly ever, were not words at all.

Ha ha. Mwaha. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

And then...HE pushed me away, and all went dark.

Well...it had been fun while it lasted.

Now sitting in a jail cell in the very headquarters I had tried to serve, a mix of emotions ran through me. Fear, remorse, anger, pain.

I pulled out my badge and sadly slid it through the bars.

He had won. He'd been wresting more and more control over the weeks, and finally the deaths had started. I couldn't stop him. I had tried to give more clues where I could, but the on-again, off-again amnesia had made it difficult. When I DID remember, I had been too afraid to speak up, determined to thwart myself--no, to thwart HIM--in his own game and prevent the deaths before he--I--caused more.

But in the end, he had won. And we both knew it.

Hopefully he wouldn't be coming back. At least in that I could take some solace.

...I already missed the badge.

At least, I sighed, it's finally over.
Best regards,
Dáin

:gp: to GoG for outstanding detective work.

:gp: to DáinIronfoot for a great Incognito.

I was getting a little worn out, so I figured SOMEONE would get the mountain/hill thing. I was surprised no one on the force picked up on my earlier clue....

I watched as Officer Korn flipped the recorder over and found the note that said simply "Saturday". He then made his way towards the police station, pausing only momentarily to study one track I had left. I breathed a sigh of relief as he shrugged it off and left.

Almost gave us both away there not-so-incognit...

SHUT UP!

Heavy iron feet would make some pretty interesting footprints, don't you think?

I also mentioned how I loved "dirty cops", but again, that seemed to get lost in the shuffle. As did the large, ghastly wounds I kept leaving on my victims...like those consistent with, say, an axe?

I was also VERY careful to never put myself and Incog in the same place together...at least, not that any other cops were aware of. Any time I was present and Incog sent a message, it was delivered through a recording or other message.

Hopefully everyone had fun with it. I know I did. The split personality thing was something I came up with on the fly and developed as I went along. I think I eventually had more fun with that than the actual game.

Anyway, the new Incog has stepped up, so I'll be splitting this thread in preparation for his/her arrival. Obviously I'll be sitting this round out, as I know who it is, but I look forward to the round after that when I can just be a normal investigator again. :) It was starting to drain me a bit to try and do both at the same time without giving myself away.
Best regards,
Dáin
