A light in his mind and Corsair War Galley
« on: September 15, 2012, 10:28:58 PM »
Hi,

Suppose I have a Corsair War Galley and I can spot 6 [Raider] tokens. My opponent then plays A light in his mind. Can he ever use its ability (if I still can spot the tokens)? Do the freeps have initiative at the start of their turn by default and then lose it when Corsair War Galley is activated, thus losing initiative each turn?

Since you need a Southron man to spot as well to gain iniative, the free peoples starts with iniative. When you play the 1th man, war galley kicks in, thus activtaing all "lose iniative" effects.

What about More unbearable? When does the free people lose initiative?

Well, here's what the rules say:

"At any time, either one side or the other side has initiative"

So this means initiative is something that is constantly checked. Since More Unbearable automatically gives the Shadow players initiative as soon as it becomes active, that means the FP never lost initiative in the first place. So any of those FP "Each time you lose initiative..." cards are worthless when More Unbearable or other similar conditions are in play.
All cards do what they say, no more, no less.
