2 x Movie Block balanced Decks
« on: October 27, 2013, 07:55:28 PM »
Hi there,

I'm looking to build 2 x balanced movie block lists that are good for teaching new players the game.

I've managed to acquire a complete set of 1 - 10 and am planning on building a LOTR cube with the cards but in order to play "cube", I need my friends to learn the game.

Can anyone suggest 2 lists that are balanced and sets 1-10 only?

Cheers

EDIT: I should also mention, to build these 2 decks I'm not limited to only having 1 copy of each card. Quite happy to go out and buy all the cards needed to build these decks, singleton decks would likely not be very competitive.

Hmm, I would advise Rohan/something with Knights/Sauron Trackers. This could help you:
Eomer, Third Marshall of Riddermark
Merry, Swordthain
Eowyn, Lady of Ithilien
Rohirrim Army
4x Simbelmyne
Firefoot
Brego
2x Merry's Sword
Eomer's Spear
Eowyn's Sword, Dernhelm's Blade
Fortress Never Fallen
Those are key cards in movie Rohan. I'm not an expert though, so don't buy all the cards, aska around to get more ideas.
I'm better with knights though:
Isildur
The One Ring, ATAR
Alcarin
Turgon
2x Elendil, 9R
2x Aragorn, Captain of Gondor (7C)
Imrahil
Garrison of Gondor
Derufin
(1 more companion,, your choice)
4x Fourth Level
3x Fifth Level
3x Sixth Level
1x Citadel of the Stars
2x Stone Tower
3x Gondor Bow
3x Banner of Westernesse
2x Catapult
2x Strong and Old
(something of you choice)

Thanks for the advice, do you think the worlds 2004 decklists would be a good place to start?

It's not overly clear which was 1st place through 16th though...

They are in order 1-16 from top to bottom.

Let me know if you want tips about either deck.

Apologies for the huge delay but appreciate you posting these decklists and I'm going to try and sleeve them up and maybe try a GEMP game or two.

I noticed with the last deck it seems to be 32 FP and 33 Shadow, is there one too many Shadow cards?

Thanks again!
