Availability of cards
« on: April 06, 2009, 03:30:18 PM »
Hello everyone. I played this game from when mount doom was released until just after the release of the Hunters.
I am now looking to get back into the game. I know that things ended in the summer of 2007, but I am nevertheless interested in hearing how easy it is to get hold of the cards.
Will it be easy to aquire enough cards to make a reasonable amount of decks for the standard format?
Would it be possible to get, if not a full playset, at least 2-3 of each card from the series currently allowed in the standard format?
My collection comprises almost all cards from Shadows, black rider and bloodlines. So I am basically looking to aquire cards from Hunters and onwards. Will it be costly? or are prices low due to people not playing anymore?
I hope to get some help. Thanks

Purchasing cards from the Hunters set will not be easy! You can easily get your hands on Hunter starters, but getting boosters for set 15/17/18 is nigh impossible.

However, most people have abundance of the c/u cards from these sets, its just certain cards that will be hard to get.

Cards from the Hunters, Rise of Saruman, and Treachery and Deceit were produced in very limited quantities, so they are very pricey and hard to get.

I am going to sort my collection very soon, giving me an overlook of what I need.
Would buying cards from private persons on this site be enough to get hunters until treachery completed?

You will have trouble getting certain cards, and getting quantities of the cards you want. But no harm in tryin!

You may be able to, but you'd have to be willing to spend a lot of money. RoS rares in particular won't go for cheap.

Tomorrow I will be selling off my World of Warcraft TCG collection and will then have the required space to sort my LotR CCG collection.
I will get back in the trading forums as soon as I have a more definite overview.
See you soon.
