Td card Deceit
« on: April 12, 2009, 02:58:09 AM »
Is it possible, I recognized lately, that deceit is not that good protection card as I thought before? It only protects other conditions. with cards like namarie you can easily discard it before and then discard the other conditions...  you need 2 deceit in game that it works

your are absolutely right.

1. you need more then 1 Deceit. i prefer 2-3 in a deck.
2. Namarie is op.

Namarie is not op - Namarie is broken!!! (all Hunter-Elves-cards are way to op) - Namarie should have never been printed: for deceit you have to remove [1] - imagine there are a few (non-unique!!!) Namarie out there with about 4 tokens on it... and you may also discard that condition without a token on it... to discard a condition... you won't have enough pool to prevent getting your conditions discarded.

--> you need to discard Namarie... all Namaries in play... how to do? I don't know... and even then... Gil-Galad get them all back!

Deceit is very strong - if it could protect it self, it would be overpowered. I do not think that Namarie is broken. Skip either maneuver phase, or kill all hunters, or do not play conditions. or discard them at foot of mount doom... You see, there are easy ways to keep your conditions secure.
You gave away your life's grace. I cannot protect you anymore.

I agree with you. There are a few decks that are running conditions, if you do, make sure you have something to get rid of namarie. It is a challenge, but he, can you do without challenge in your life? I mean, lately I have been playing vs Smallman and Enola. They build good decks and they win more from me than I from them...but I'm not concerned, they give me things to think about, and they are cool guys.
So stop whining, learn to play this game like men ;)

this can't be serious meant? ''just kill all the hunters or skip the maneuver phase''...this is a joke, eh? ''Just win the game'' not so difficult bro'' ....yeah, almost every card skips the maneuver phase and to kill companions (aim of the game) you sometimes need conditions. and in most decks I know with namarie, there are round 4-5 hunters and there are some more cards, that playce tokens on it, like galadriels silver ever

this is going straigth to of topic, but to my mind The Balrog, Demon of Might is the only useful way to skip maneuver and archery phase. but for sure cool stuff with Cavern Entrance

To me a good deal of the 14+ set stuff seems op, but that's just compared to earlier cards. Namarie seems crazy. I hate condition discard.

'till you are facing Whispers in the Dark, Shapes slowly Advancing, Not This Time, and I can continue this list. I know, in my playing environment, people neither have, or like Namarie, so I don't care about it. If you know people like to play Hunter Elves and Namarie, go for enduring nazgul, sitepath control with nelya and Buckland Homestead. Some wound preventing with They feel the Precious and I guess you're settled.

I play hobbits. And dwarves. My friend plays Elves, Nazgul, and site control Uruk-hai. Neither of us have namarie, or any other cards from after Hunters, but still all my conditions tend to get discarded, and none of his do. I would run 4x Not feared in Sunlight in my hobbit decks, but they would be discarded before they could do anything useful. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but still. Namarie does seem necessary in the environment it was designed for, however. I can't think of any real hobbit condition discard, except for Seven We Had.

the fact is elves had condition discard before namarie, seclusion, company of archers, (and in expanded secret sentinels) both good cards that could provide them with the discard.  Namarie was unnecessary, they didn't need condition discard and hunter elves are good enough without it.  + hearth and hall kills with it anyway.

really the point of hunter block seems to make cards that are so good that people have to get them or get slaughtered.  My playgroup took the approach of none of us buying them (except for the artifacts, but I don't use those in decks.)
