My attempt at LttG
« on: January 17, 2010, 10:06:13 AM »
Well, since LttG is my favorite card I had to make a deck with it. When I saw Kralik's decks, I had to post mine as well. Point is though that I think it can be done better, but I won recently, which was nice :-)

Frodo And Ring
*The One Ring, The Binding Ring (9R+1)
*Frodo, Old Bilbo's Heir (1R289)

Sites
(1R)Sleeping Quarters (7U333)
(2R)King's Tent (7U335)
(3R)Hall of the Kings (7U339)
(4R)Anduin Banks (7U341)
(5R)Pelennor Flat (7U345)
(6R)Minas Tirith First Circle (7U347)
(7R)Ruined Capitol (7U355)
(8R)Northern Ithilien (7U359)
(9R)Slag Mounds (7U363)

Fellowship (34)
1x Bounder (1C286)
1x *Ring of Fury (9R+7)
1x *Ring of Guile (9R8)
1x *Ring of Retribution (9R9)
3x *Durin III, Dwarven Lord (9R+3)
1x *Gimli, Feared Axeman (7R7)
1x *Linnar, Dwarven Lord (9R5)
2x *Sam, Son Of Hamfast (1C311)
1x *Sindri, Dwarven Lord (9R10)
1x *Uri, Dwarven Lord (9R11)
1x *Ever My Heart Rises (4R46)
1x Preparations (7R12)
2x Battle Tested (7U3)
4x Come Here Lad (4U43)
2x Rest by Blind Night (4R54)
3x *Axe of Erebor (4R41)
2x Dwarven Axe (1C9)
2x Dwarven Bracers (12U5)
2x Hand Axe (2C10)
2x Hobbit Sword (7C319)

Shadow (34)
1x The Underdeeps of Moria (1R200)
2x They Are Coming (1C196)
4x Lost to the Goblins (1R189)
4x *Gollum, Dark as Darkness (9R+28)
3x *Host of Moria, Legion of the Underdeeps (9R+41)
4x Goblin Runner (1U178)
4x Goblin Scavengers (1C179)
4x Goblin Sneak (1U181)
4x Goblin Warrior (1C185)
4x Goblin Scimitar (1C180)

Preparations and EMHR stack cards, but the risk is indeed that you reveal your strategy. Come Here Lad makes you stack more cards, because that is what you want. Try to take everything back in the deck with the Sneak. Play Sneak back with Host of Moria, LotU, play Sneak back with TAC, as many times back as you need to.
Than, if you know you have hardly any freeps cards in the deck, release the bomb. This is where Underdeeps of Moria comes in handy. You don't need to keep onto many moria minions, since you can play some back when they are put back underneath your deck.

The issue was that I had no idea I was facing LttG until I got corrupted so I added 2 burdens at site 5, thinking I was playing against Moria Swarm. It was the first time I saw LttG online even though I knew that card existed.

Better? BETTER? Ha! ;)

What happens if you stack key cards like LttG itself? Just shuffle back with Rest by Blind Night?

You read too much into it, Kralik Sidious. :vader: I think my deck can be done better. Sure, there is a risk in stacking LttG onto the conditions, otherwise they can be shuffled back directly. Stack your deck, remove the freeps cards by either using EMHR or Gimli's Axe and shuffle the rest back.

Preparations isn't needed that much, allthough it can come in handy. And I will go hard through my deck, so I reckon I will get it fast

Haha, GE. Just poking fun at you. But without the surprise, it's easy to avoid LttG.

ket, of course you don't HAVE to play more than three Moria minions before using LttG. You could always use it and then play the rest.

GE, why not 1x Gollum DaD + 3x Captured by the Ring?

Because I don't need to mess with my deck more than I need to. Maybe I could add him and Northern Ithilien, for more burden pleasure. And for more than 3 moria minions, if I know there are fellowshipcards in the deck, I don't mind to discard more cards..

The originla idea of LTTG was that you use gollum, DaD to force the exertion needed to trigger LttG.

3x Captured by the Ring gives you 3x Gollum, DaD. Plus, if you succeed with threats, Northern Ithilien. But... with this particular deck, I suppose you risk having your only Gollum stacked on Ever My Heart Rises.

But Kralik...I'm working on another deck, will post it soon. I think it can be ace, but it is a little rough round the edges.
