Multicultural Fun with Moria Swarm
« on: April 19, 2010, 11:19:38 AM »
Well, this is another real cards Deck of mine. I don't have all cards desired, but I like it anyway. I think it has lots of potential, but enough said, here it comes:

Frodo, RH
SaWtC

Freeps (32):

1x Gandalf, TWW (starting)
1x Smeagol, PC (starting)
3x Faramir, Son of Denethor (P)
2x Pippin, WoBaS
1x Sam, SoH

2x Mithrandir, Mithrandir!
2x Turn of the Tide
1x Roll of Thunder
4x Might of Numenor
2x Brooding on Tomorrow
2x Mind your own affairs
1x Shadowplay
2x Hobbit Appetite
2x Orc Bane

2x Gandalf's Staff
1x Glamdring, Elven Blade
1x Glamdring, Lightning Brand (P)
1x Sting, BH
1x Narya

Shadow (32):

2x The Balrog, ToFaS
1x Host of Moria, LotU
2x Ulaire Enquea, LoM
2x Guard Commander
4x Goblin Wallcrawler
4x Goblin Backstabber
4x Goblin Runner
4x Goblin Sneak

2x They are coming
3x Goblin Swarms
4x Goblin Scimitar

The Shadow side should be clear, so let's explain the Freeps strategy, cus' there are a couple of things that are important to say:

- Signets with Mind your own affairs: Pretty simple, as your opponent won't be able to prevent wounding in skirmishes with Faramir, it's also a bit Ring-Bearer protection.

- TotT etc. are not only here to get enough twilight, and as I use 2 different Glamdrings, I also use two different possession removals, which are both useful, but TotT is better with Glamdring, Lightning Brand (P).

Other cards should be ok.

where are the scavengers? where are the moria scouts? add 4x scavengers at the very least, add fury of the white rider, faramir's bow and a couple more shadowplay or gondor bowmen to make them even.

I had 3 Fury of the White rider, but it never worked... but Faramir's Bow seems like a very nice addition to this Deck.

Anyway, How would you run this whole Moria Swarm? But pls without Armories, as I don't have those...(neither the Shadowplay)

just add scavengers and it will work i think, thats how i run my swarm, aslo you have like 5 maneuver events that cost 3 and 4 might of numenor, seems like fury of the white rider would work fine, maybe drop the 2 hobbit appetite for don't look at them to go with smeagol

Your only chance for your Moria Swarm to survive vs wounding are:

Isengard Warrior, Fill with Fear, Final Strike and there is also a Gorgoroth guy that prevents archery actions.

I do not understand why you have Pippin, wobas in your deck and not in your starting fellowship. He is at his best when the opponent's minion are roaming. You don't want to draw him at site 6. You could put both Pippin and Faramir with Smeagol in your starting fellowship and have 4 copies of Gandalf. You could also think about using The Tale of the Great Ring.

I must say, the last argument really convinced me, but now, I have to get 3 Gandis...

Anybody out there, do you have Gandalf, TWW for trade?!?

Gandalf, TWW is a common... I'm surprised to see people 'trading' and not 'giving' common.

Well, there are actually some cards like, you know, Hobbit Sword and so on, but the problem about this whole thing is that shipping costs more money than the card itself, which makes me kinda said, cus' I'm not sure I'll get on this way...

- Signets with Mind your own affairs: Pretty simple, as your opponent won't be able to prevent wounding in skirmishes with Faramir, it's also a bit Ring-Bearer protection.
You do realize that Faramir, SoD can't prevent response actions like Sweeter Meats. As far as I'm aware, Mauhur, PL is the only wound prevention that can be stopped by him.

Didn't know that, but anyway, it was just a detail for me.
