GE's journey into Thailand
« on: October 20, 2008, 06:48:21 AM »
So, as some of you know I'm about to go to Thailand. I'm going to visit refugeecamps in the borderarea with Myanmar, formally known as Burma. In this region people called the Karen live. In Thailand they are welcome to do what they want, in Myanmar they are hunted because of their disagreement with the government in Myanmar. In Thailand they are collected in special camps, and over 150.000 of them are living there. Some for over 20 years.
The ZOA, a refugee organisation, provides education in these camps and I am invited by them to see what they are doing. I can't imagine what it's like to see these people, that are innocent but yet locked away behind barbed wire and high fences.

Anyway, I have a website: www.wubsnaarthailand.tk. On that website I will keep my family, friends and pupils informed about my trip. Photo's and such.
There is also a guestbook, which can be signed! It would be nice to see some TLHH members there to support me! Maybe during my journey -which starts 29th of October- but Lemonhead has gone before you! As I can imagine your dutch is a bit rusty, least to say, I will guide you to the guestbook!

Step 1: Go to www.wubsnaarthailand.tk or www.wubsinthailand.tk

Step 2: Go to the upperright corner to 'Gastenboek'

Step 3: Go to: klik hier om naar het gastenboek te gaan...... ( reads in English: click here to    go to the guestbook)

Step 4: Go to the line in the brownish box that says: teken gastenboek (reads: sign guestbook)

Step 5 is pretty self explanatory

For our Brazilian friends...you could go for a Portuguese text, which would be soooooo cool, but please translate it in English afterwards. This is for all our nonnative English friends BTW

Many thanks,

Heije aka Gil-Estel
