I completely agree. Once, a friend of mine bought a booster of MtG cards as a birthday present for another friend of him. When I got to his place, we were so curious, that we couldn't resist but opening the pack after like an hour of discussing pros and cons. Of course the pack was absolutely nuts (for us, maybe isn't today), it was an Onslaught pack with like Krosan Colossus and other cool cards.

Of course the new pack he bought as a present contained a whole lot of crap.

I keep telling myself I won't do it because I know being a starter deck I am likely to get the same rares. O well I guess I can open one more lol. It will be my rush of the day first thing in the morning. Here we go...... ohhh I love that smell....

No way....... a ring of doom first one!!!!!!!
The second and third are Ulaire Lemenya and Shepherd of the trees

Two lucky days now I am really thinking about opening the other deck lol.

But seriously, do it. See what comes from it. Of course, chance dictates it'll be a boatload of carp, but still, do it. Just for the LOLs.

I remember buying someone's opened starter deck at a card shop. They only wanted three bucks for it, or something like that, I was so excited because it had Aragorn, Heir to the White City in it. Haha, boy that was a while ago. Hopefully I can have a lucky day with a booster box on ebay.

I once bought a set 1-13 play set (yes, at least 4 of each; some rares even more; all the heavy-weight rares foiled, a complete ring foil set and virtually complete foil movie block) and lots of promos as well as uncut sheets and rare posters for $200. It is easily worth 5 times that much.

Good day, when the two boxes weighing 50lbs each, arrived. A mother to sort through the 12000+ cards, though...

Someone was selling their collection on ebay. I got it for $10, free shipping. It included something like 300 Movie Block rares. That was a pleasant surprise.
