AVG what?
« on: April 11, 2011, 04:54:00 PM »
My AVG just told me that GCCG has Malware in it.  I checked the scans (a pretty reliable way as most viruses will deactivate the scan before it reaches them) and it said that after I installed it that none of the scans where completed.  Why?

I'd say it's a false positive. AVG has quite poor detection rates.

I thought about that as the malware detection hasn't been updated in a little while and I only got GCCG recently.  But then why hasn't it been able to complete any scans since I downloaded it?

Can't tell you without seeing it, and I do computer support as part of my job. :P

But I would recommend switching to MSE if you need a free A/V.

Ok so before I realized that it was GCCG I told my computer to quarantine.  Now I can't find the GCCG start-up program.  I've tried reinstalling it but it just doesn't show up.  Help?

Is it possible it is remembering your choice and auto-quarantining it each time?

Maybe but I can't find the program in the quarantine and remove it.
