Tabletop Simulator
« on: June 04, 2015, 08:21:27 PM »
Hi guys.

First post here. I used to play the LotR TCG ages ago, when the first sets were released. I played in my local tournament scene until my deck got stolen, and I quit after realizing getting back to where I was would set me back a good 300€ or so.
I've sorta stopped paying attention to it since, but have been back into games like Magic with friends (no more competitive or extended online play for me - I just don't have the patience to build 'optimal' decks anymore) and we've been hanging out on 'Tabletop Simulator' for them.

Out of Nostalgia, I was planning to make a LotR TCG mod for it for TS to play with friends and share with interested people.
To do so, I need a copy of... well, basically every card ever printed.
Luckily, they're all hosted at http://lotrtcgwiki.com, and I could simply download them all individually through there.

Downloading every picture individually will take absolutely forever though, so I figured I'd drop a post here and see if one of you aficionados doesn't just happen to have a collection of card images stored somewhere that they could share with me for me to import into Tabletop Simulator.
It'd save me ... 20 hours guesstimate of clicking cards and then clicking save as.

Any help appreciated!

I don't have the card images, but we have http://www.gempukku.com/gemp-lotr/ , which is free and has all the cards in the database already. Interface is simple once you put a deck together.

We've already got a system set up for playing LOTR: gempukku.com/gemp-lotr

You can make decks for any formats you like, and find games at any time of the day. Check it out!
All cards do what they say, no more, no less.

I found gempukku - and I'm aware there's a possibility to simply play it there.
And I appreciate the invitation :).

I'm' more looking to bring the game to my friends ... rather than my friends to the game, if that distinction makes sense.
We're already gathered around a program, it'll be far easier to drop a new game into an established community than for me to ask 'm to uproot and move there and make new accounts for 'just one more game'.

Just a matter of what you're used to, and I'm sure gempukku is a fine program for playing LotR exclusively - it's just that migrating from our program of choice isn't what I'm looking for.

I just finished work on the fellowship set - it's uploading as we speak :).
Took me a bit under 3 hours, the majority of which was spent downloading and sorting images. Just leaving the post up here in case anyone reads it and goes 'hey, I have those files you're looking for!'

The final result, by the by, should look like this, but if anyone has the regular images sorted by set - that's all I need to save me hours of time!

And a mini second request: A high quality scan / image view of the *backside* of a card?

Google image search only gives me a low quality version that blurs on a high zoom level - or a higher quality version which is too bright / saturated in colour.

If anyone has that - the final product would look a little bit nicer.

Fellowship block complete. If anyone lurking would be interested, can be found at:

Collections of cards from later block are still highly welcome, as is a high quality card back image!

Sent you a PM - though there's nothing in my 'outbox' nor did I get confirmation it was sent...

If you didn't get anything, my e-mail's apparently also visible to the left of this post :).

Perfect, Bla - Cheers :).

Will be using that for future sets, and upgrading the old card backs when I add decks :).

Thanks!

Findanniin: Looks like I over-promised. The computer I had the images on has since been reformatted. Sorry!

EDIT:
I have the images, but I'll have to send you ~15 emails :P they are coming though!

Final Edit:
Here is the download link!

You're my favourite person this week, NaZ - Thank you!

Got everything I needed, will be importing them all into TS over the weeks to come.

Next step will be making ready-made decks for people to play - so if you'd like to see your deck in the game that way; I'm looking to make 10 or so balanced decks / block for pick up and play type games.
