Malachi had been waiting all day on GCCG for someone to play... I was able to pop in and chat a bit, and then after work we played:

My Smokin' Gandalf and [Moria] Swarm
vs.
His [Dwarven] / [Sauron] Discard

Bid was tied at 2; Malachi won the toss and went first. In general my wimpy Goblin Runners and Backstabbers had no chance against his dwarves. I got the Flame of Udun early -- site 2 I think -- and closely guarded it in hand.

Meanwhile, my Fellowship got set up and started getting blasted by [Sauron] discard (ToBD and DDotR). I was fortunate not to have hand clog even without Gandalf's Cart. Got a Trust Me as You Once Did in play, lost another to Orc Inquisitor.

Incidentally, it was that single loss that made the game for me! The only other card I had in hand was the Flame of Udun. Malachi's discard was doing a good job at trashing my deck, mostly getting Shadow it seemed. I hadn't got any pipeweed yet, but had three pipes. And then Manuel's fateful move to the Bridge of Khazad-Dum*...

He gave lots of twilight, playing a [Dwarven] companion and some other cards. Got the 'Rog out, and all of those Goblin Runners I had previous came in handy! Six minions to his five companions; standard RB overwhelm. He let me know he had nothing and we ended the game there, though I probably would have killed off another dwarf instead of the RB with a Goblin Backstabber in case he had PATHS.

Too bad my Freeps didn't get to go, since I had recently acquired 2 Longbottom Leaf, Elrond LoR, Narya, and some other goodies! I might just have survived the discard.

Good game. :P

My game vs Malachi:

Standard: hunter/troll swarm for me
                 hobbits/uruks hai for him

We both bid 2, and he won the toss. Started at Green Dragon with Frodo RH, ent merry, Ent Pippin, Maggot and Fatty. He pulled sam and moved to site 2, East Wall of Rohan, I played a hill orc, goblin hordes and that weapon that makes people exert. He exerted Sam, lost and took another exertion from the Hill Orc ability.

I started, played Orophin HUnter, Gimlis KIng block axe and some 3 hunter conditions and moved. Faced one random uruk and mauhur. Gimli wasted the uruk, Mauhur woudned orophin and gimli.

Turn 2 he played gandalf returned and foehammer. Moved and I played the assign troll and a porter troll, a well as another weapon. Force dthe assign troll to Gandalf while Porter Troll faced off Fatty. Gandalf exerted, then took 3 wounds to end up dead, fatty had a follower and played that cancel card. Fierce Porter went to Sam, and he misread his pipeweed so Sam died as well.

I played Thorongil, Ari's bow, Sting and FTTH. MOved to 3, where 3 hunter uruks showed up. A few threats added, Lego exerted and all died to archery.

At site 4 I played a keyward, shower 5 trolls, added 10 and played 2 more to rid him of his pipeweed. My site 4 was uneventful, a few uruks, lost FTTH and dealt 4 archery wounds.

He moved to 5 where 2 horden got bakc a porter troll and a keyward. Played the keyward, showed 8! trolls, added 16 and played 4 more trolls. Frodo had 2 wounds and died vs a dmg +1 fierce troll.

From site 3 I had him in the lock, constant 4-5 trolls in hand and returning keywards, as well as disabled his condition removal by killing gandalf (pallando was in play). One site at a turn was easy to survive with the massage preskirmish damage I could do. All in all some luck for me, where I waqs set up quick and drew trolls when I needed them.

Two games vs. Malachi, both Movie Block.

1st: My Flaming Ents and Stinker Gollum vs. His Rohan and Nazgul

A short game! He took out Gandalf, Leader of Men with Shotgun Enquea and the Ring of Asperity at site 3 (six companions). Without Gandalf, my deck was utterly ruined unless I happened to draw Gandalf MoW and Sent Back. No use for 4x SftF (or just about anything else, really).

VERY luckily for me, he only had three companions (Frodo and starting) by site 4. I played Stinker and Her Ladyship; Eomer could not fight. Her Ladyship on Eowyn, Stinker on Frodo... and Frodo was overwhelmed. If I had two more twilight I could have played Sauron tLotR. :P

2nd: My Dauntless Hobbits and Easterlings vs. His Discarding Hobbits/Pipeweed and Moria/Corsair Swarm (?)

Rough game for Malachi. I went first with 1 burden and was able to set up my Freeps very well. Got a few key cards like Merry's Dagger early -- all in all, my Freeps was a perfect success. Dauntless Hunter and Elrond + Vilya clogged Malachi's hand, and the minions were not much trouble with the [Moria] conditions being +2. I got Taurnil around site 6 I believe.

His discarding hobbits (from Towers) did not fare well vs. Easterlings with Raider Bow's. Lots of extra twilight to remove. Pippin died early, Merry followed, then Gandalf. He finally got Aragorn at site 6 (even with 4x in deck), but by then it was too late. I think it's fair enough, though, since I didn't get Easterling Captain (x4 also) until about then. Indeed, in my last draw I got THREE (about 15 cards left in deck).

Game ended with brutal Easterling Captain overwhelm on Frodo (site 7) and my Fellowship completely unscathed at site 8.

Good games! Now I'm off to spend my earnings... or perhaps to bed first. ;)

Note: Malachi doesn't sleep. :P

GCCG game vs. cl0ckw0rk; outcome: undecided...

What an interesting deck! First time I've played cl0ckw0rk -- unfortunately, my break was over and I had to go back to work about 2/3rds through the game. If we finish I'll let you know as there was no clear winner at the time. Both Fellowships had potential...

You've got to see the deck design! Movie Block, and his ENTIRE draw deck was discarded at site 1. I'll leave the rest as a surprise, but let me just say that it was very intriguing...

Good game! :)

GCCCG game vs. Kralik, Undecided.

first time playing on GCCG!  a bit confusing, being used to SdA, etc etc.  Still getting used to the controls, nowhere near memorizing every single one of the keyboard shortcuts.  We were on the 2nd site and Kralik disconnected mysteriously and I haven't contacted him since...

My computer randomly FROZE and I had to pull the plug. Maybe again some other time?

You don't have to memorize the keyboard shortcuts if that's not your cup of tea since you can do everything with right-click.

My: Wargs and Dwarves vs.
CBB's: Hobbits and Moria

Short game. IMO Wargs are way overpowered.

To sum up:
CBB bid 3, I bid 1; he went first. Every turn was a single move. Wargs killed two hobbits at site 2, two hobbits at site 3, and Frodo was eaten alive at site 4. The end! (Poor lads)

EDIT: Come to think of it, it was a hobbit and Gandalf at site two.

Format: Standard
Program: GCCG

My: Refuge Rainbow and Morcs vs.
c10ckw0rk's: [Gondor] wraiths and [Men] archery.

I won and swarmed him with Morcs at site five, all his companions exhausted.

To sum up:  I was able to discard 1 of his whispers in the dark, but multiples were in play. c10ckw0rk would probably have survived should he have played more companions early on.

His archery was annoying, so I used Frodo as my personal pincushion. His minions were very strong and beefed up, but I managed to kill most of them with Aragorn and his longbow, legolas, and eowyn before having to fight.

Great game.

My Rainbow Wounding/Forestguls

vs

Kralik's Dwarves/[Orc] Wounding

My first game on GCCG and Kralik showed me the ropes. His standard Shadow was brutal but the particular FP I was playing is nasty, designed to kill everything by Archery. Rider's Gear meant some heavy loaded minions hitting my companions. But it is also prepared for that.

I made a mistake and let Gandalf, Powerful Guide bite the dust, but it wasnt too much of a setback. Thorongil didnt make it to the end either, but the trusty Rohirrim Guard did his bit!

TheJord is too humble. What he really meant to say is that my Shadow had a snowball's chance in #$&*@! vs. his Freeps. ;) Couldn't touch them.

If you want to play a good game? Go and look for Enola. First of all, he is the nicest frenchmen I know (well that is not too difficult since I know little to no French dudes) but he is great fun to play against.
That is, the atmosphere is just ace. He is layed back, interested, doesn't mind mistakes, and is very patient.
Gametechnical though, a whole different story, haha. He is almost like a wizard! Incredible. Seems to have allways the right cards at the right moment. He always has the answer to everything I bring up. I don't know whether that means I am a bad player, or that he is that good....I just keep telling  myself it is the latter.

We have played eachother many times now and I guess the result is like 473846 wins for him, vs 1 for me......

First game, I won as my opponent had to leave. We were playing with starters and I was using my TTT Aragorn starter.
Second, I won as my opponent had to leave as well. He was using Rohan-Evil Men deck. His Rohan deck took advantage of effects like "if the ring-bearer is assigned to a skirmish" and a little bit of "hunter". His evil men took advatage of cards and possesions that were stacked.

Me on the other hand, played a Gondor-Isengard deck. It wasn't such a fair game, as I surpassed the rule-of-9 and had 14 companions out. 2 Ranger of Osgiliath, 1 Knight of Gondor, 4 Tradesman from Lebennin, 1 Boromir, Doomed Heir, 1 Aragorn, Isildur's Heir, I Merry, Learned Guide, 1 Gandalf, Defender of the West, 1 Faramir, Son of Denethor. Army of the West I guess. :P

Third game as a rather brief one, as I used my TTT Aragorn starter and he was using Dwarven-Orc. My Dunlending Pillager quickly stripped him of his possesions, while my fierce Dunlending Madman, Dunlending Savage and a couple of others swarmed his Ringbearer for the win. :)

GCCG is great!

Cheers,
Kenddrick

Just played a good one with Inspire for King Standard (1-7). I'm only posting because at site 9, I managed to kill eight companions with a single use of Greed, Isengard Archery and Dagorlad. I had a Ranged Commander and two Uruk Crossbowmen and one Weapons of Isengard and wiped out his freeps, leaving a strength 5 (seven with ring) Frodo.

Of course, he had a Bounder so he survived the three-on-one attack. C'est la vie.
