Cut 2 clever hobbits and try to throw in some Naked Waste.
Also, if you maybe incorporate either Sam or Faramir, SoD, you can also run We Hates Them and it works nicely.

Maybe drop a Stinker or 2 for Hopeless/DaD. Add a Web to keep playing him, too.
Covetous Wisp is useless in a non-Wraith deck, cut it or try to incorporate more. But it will only cause clog. Led astray is great.

My version of solo smeagol, giving usualy no more than 3 twilight when moving. I do always double moves. Bid 2-3 and map Imladris on 3. shadow is there only for Shores of Nen Hithoel to stop once if opponent is faster. Use classic combo follow smeagol + safe passage on rivers.

The exertions could hurt, but you do have nice fish. hope you don't run into archery or corruption. Deagol seems more than useless, unless I'm missing something

With all the conditions out, +1 is irrelevant. Could cut it for O Elbereth for a constant +1, or even a PATHS.

Deagol is not useless, after resolving Smeagol´s skirmish, there is still a skirmish phase until both players pass an action but Smeagol is no more assigned.

Archery need loads of twilight of a good use, only bad matchup from archery is moria archery.

Corruption is same. with 5 counters max per site you will get burden very rarely.

I maybe wrong but..

As soon as smeagol's skirmish has been 'resolved' the skirmish phase ends.. because to resolve a skirmish means both players have already passed.

Which means if Smeagol is your only companion and he fights and wins or looses, as soon as his fight is over the phase ends so there is no chance to use Deagol.

Can someone please confirm this rule..?

Well you end by pass/pass Smeagol´s skirmish, but not entire Skirmish phase. That is at least my understanding of rules and in czech Republic we play this for years and noone have ever had any complaint about it.

If there is no one left to skirmish after smeagol, wouldn't the phase have to end immediately?

Why would there still be a skirmish phase with no skirmishes left?

Skirmish actions must be performed during a skirmish phase, before the skirmish is resolved (moving to the resolution when all players pass on skirmish actions). If there is no one left to skirmish after Smeagol, there won't be an opportunity to use Deagol's ability.

Think of it this way: if Smeagol isn't skirmishing, and no other companion is there to skirmish, how can Deagol work? He can't.
