I'll do it. And the arrival of the Brits was really more of the emergance of the Brits as most of us such as myself had actually been members of CC for a long time but only became properly active in the latter days. Heck I could even be in Dark times mentioned above as I used to run DC contests on the D forums back in their glory days.

Yeah, I think their "arrival' should actually be an "emergence", from what I remember. I'm still figuring some stuff out, but I think we can make one cool piece of work here.

Ok, so from what I've gathered, we have sop, Dain, Thranduil (when he returns), AD and lem0n, and I think we could probably call in bto as well, at least, and perhaps NBarden. m64 will probably to busy to help for now, due to his busy schedule, but if he decides to pop in, well, the more the merrier. But I think we can do fine as it is for now.
I'll lauch a few ideas 'round here tomorrow so we can kick things off, after I take my wretched Tributary Law test, and hopefully pass it. Until then, well, start brainstorming, it'll be an important part of this. ;)

well I have actually thought of different stats...you would have resistance to spamming, posts per day (strength) and...GP (vitality) and what would make it interesting is that there would be tons of cards to make you use different ones to resolve skirmishes...

That might work, although I think it'd distance itself so greatly from LotR TCG then some people mighit drop out on it.
But of course, a lot of those ideas can be incorporated in keywords, titles, etc. For instance, Posts Per Day could be a strength pump for Spammer characters, and such.

I agree...those would work better as keywords or abilities than replacing current stats. I think strength and vitality should remain as they are, though resistance we might be able to play around with to some degree. Instead of resistance to the Ring, resistance to SOMETHING else could certainly be done. It's just a matter of what they something else could be that I'm not sure of yet. Spamming...nah. Not a bad idea, but not something I think would make sense outside a few select characters. I DO think spamming should be in there, but more on the keyword/ability side of things.

Resistance to...uh...jeez, I need to think this through some more. :P
Best regards,
Dáin

Resistance COULD refer to resistance to flaming, or to hacking. When a character starts flame wars too often, he might get a ban. Same with hacking, tOO got "corrupted" and became greedy to have a hoard of gp (which, btw, he himself suggested to have added to the community), so he "soft-hacked" the system and got banned for it.

Yeah, I suppose that could work. Might want to replace the Ring with something else then, however.

Dáin

It is, I have a few ideas to throw out there. However, I'll be preparing my graduation paper's presentation this week, and I'll be presenting it next week, so I can't really spare time for now. But hey, as soon as that's over, we'll kick things off!

I think we need a different thread to figure out the mechanics and all.

I like my idea :D

for the record i like the Spammer and post count idea...post count should count towards something...not sure how though. Maybe it could be sorta like resistance in that weaker characters might have great post count (IE hobbit have high resistance but low strength vs. say gil-galad or something) just posting out loud hear.

I'm thinking Post Count could be represented by some new mechanic that connects conditions w/ culture tokens to specific companions. That way, you can potentially increase post count via reinforcement, et cetera.
Forget it. I'm not arguing with the computer anymore to try to get the sig I want....
