OMG eBay flood
« on: October 22, 2009, 09:57:43 PM »
Did anyone see the 3000+ foil cards listed as singles today on eBay? I've never seen such rediculous pricing. There's 63 pages! It worse than Spam!

Still don't see 3000 foils listed separately.

Wow they are all gone...thats so strange. Seriously, they were all there. Hopes up? I don't htink so...FOTR common foils were all $1 or more, and FOTR foils were $30 and $50...someone was screwing around. I'm glad they're gone either way.

Okay it's back again. This time I've got screenshots to prove it:

Still not seeing those kinds of results.

Not sure why you're getting those query results.

There are only 10 kinds of people in the world.  Those who know binary and those who don't.

You get that many pages because the majority of those cards are "Buy It Now" items.  If you look for LOTR foils with the "Buy It Now" option, you'll get most of the same cards.  I'm on ebay every day looking at them and not much changes except for a few auctions that end and any new items listed overnight.

After investigating this bizarre scenario, I've discovered the cause. Search results vary from one IP address to another. I performed the same search from two different locations and had a variance of almost 3000 results. After googling the topic I found that eBay has so many multiple databases that depending on your IP (or your ISP) you may yield totally different results.
