Shadowplay
« on: June 22, 2008, 03:15:41 PM »
Working on putting a Shadowplay deck together for an upcoming tournament, but never used the card before.  It'll be paired with Unheeded, Gandalf, Powerful Guide and a few others.  My question is, though, how exactly does this card work?  Can someone just break it down for me, specifically if you have more than one copy in play.  I would appreciate it.  Thanks.

Each copy can be used only once per turn of course and when a minio9n is played you simply exert a hobbit compion (Pippin, WOBaS or Merry SW) to exert the minion that was just played. If you have 4 copies in play you can exert up to 4 minions or a minion 4 times (or a combonation of the two). Hope that was helpful and not even more confusing.
If a Balrog falls from a bridge and noone is around, does it make a sound?

Can you bounce Pippin even if there are no roaming minions to wound?

Yep. Same with Swordthain. That's why they're so useful in decks that do stuff each time Hobbits are played, like the many that use Home and Hearth.

Yeah its a cost for no effect. But if there were no minions, then you cant, as there would be no skirmish phase.

clarification re shadowplay...

If i have 4 copies in play, and my opponent plays a minion, do I -

1. Exert 1 hobbit once to exert that minion 4 times?
or
2. exert a hobbit once to exert a minion (then do this 4 times for each copy of shadowplay)?
