I agree; events are different from special abilities, even though they're used similarly.

Keep in mind that special abilities can be on characters (i.e., Legolas Greenleaf), possessions/artifacts (i.e., Aragorn's Bow), or conditions (i.e., Gondor Bowmen).

So it is still incredibly versatile!

Yeah, basically, anything that follows a boldfaced phase keyword (e.g. "Maneuver:") that's not on an event is a special ability.

Note that text along the lines of "Each time ... you may ..." is not a special ability.

Bottom line: If it starts with "Maneuver:" or "Archery:" and it's not on an event, Final Strike can prevent it.
