Two questions
« on: February 16, 2010, 07:05:17 PM »
...and maybe more depending on how these are answered.

okay, so me and my three brothers got LackeyCCG working over our LAN (with a few glitches and crashes now and then, mostly due to /secret and /reveal...for now, we do bids with real-life tokens!), and we've gotten back to the good old days of building decks and beating each other senseless, while still being in close enough proximity to swat each other should too much awesomeness be displayed.

We've limited ourselves to Fellowship block for now, and my FP's strategy of choice is a half-deck composed of Boromir, Lord of Gondor, Merry, From O'er the Brandywine, and The Prancing Pony to get Aragorn, Ranger of the North.  Bid high to ensure Aragorn gets out, and then simply play.  The freeps side of things is composed entirely of possessions and pumps...swords, flaming brands, shields, armors, and random +2/+4 's coming out of nowhere, that can be dropped as soon as drawn.  would it fly online?  I'm not sure, but here it's knocking heads (killing the balrog is oh-so-satisfying).  As it is, there's two questions I had, as indicated by the topic subject:

#1: I can exert Aragorn, RotN multiple times to make him defender +2 or +3, correct?  I've used this strategy on site nine a number of times to protect against that last-ditch six-minion effort.  I'd assume you could, seeing Gimli, son of Gloin, could be exerted twice to make him strength +4, so why not multiple defender bonuses?

#2, let's say Aragorn, RotN is skirmishing The Witch-King, Lord of the Nazgul, and three other minions (in such a situation as above).  Aragorn has been loaded up with every [Gondor] card known to man, including Saga of Elendil.  If Aragorn is exhausted (no doubt due to have exerted multiple times to make him defender+X), and I discard Saga of Elendil to make him strength +2, it's no doubt that he dies, right then.  my question is: has the Witch-King "won" the skirmish?  it was never resolved, rather, Aragorn committed suicide, it seems.  Does he get to exert to wound the ring-bearer twice, or not?

This is correct. As a maneuver action, you can exert Aragorn as many times as you have the vitality to support. Just make sure that the Free Peoples and Shadow players go back and forth on actions.

If a companion is removed from a skirmish (by death, in your situation), then the Shadow player wins the skirmish. On the same note, if you discard, say, Merry, Learned Guide, a minion (or minions) skirmishing Merry would be credited with winning the skirmish.

is this the same, then, as "canceling" a skirmish (a la Hobbit Stealth or a number of other [Shire] cards), or not?  Could the Witch-King use his ability after being Stealth'd?

That is not the same as cancelling a skirmish. If you cancel a skirmish, it is as if it did not happen; however, if you remove all characters from one side of the skirmish, the other side wins.

That is, if you had four [Sauron] minions skirmishing one companion and had Gorgoroth Troop stack all four of the minions, the Free People's player would get credit for winning the skirmish.

Glad to hear you got LackeyCCG working! You should PM me how. :)

Here's the trick for Gorn: Have someone else fight first and discard the Saga of Elendil during THEIR skirmish. In that case, Gorn NEVER FIGHTS (he commits suicide when he sees the overwhelming odds) and Wikkie doesn't win.
