I love the speed skating.

Hup Holland Hup!

Ulmo, you're my man! That is also the only hope for dutch medals, and we have succeeded so far. 4 medals already, 2x gold, 1x silver and 1x bronse....

Why is Holland so good in Long Track Speed Skating and bad in Short Track Speed Skating?

Long Track is our tradition. We are an iceskating nation, with long going traditions that require a good stamina. The most famous is our Elf Stedentocht (11 cities tour) that will take skaters for 200 km along 11 cities. Because our moderate climate we do not have that tour often, last one was in 1997.
Shorttrack isn't our cup of tea. Maybe it will be, but not at this moment.

Irene Wust won our 5th medal, and yet another golden one!

Drama on the 10.000 meters for Holland. Sven Kramer was on his way to win his second gold medal and then his coach send him in the wrong lane...disqualified. Pfff, he was almost 7 seconds faster than the #2, which is a huge gap. Sigh. Would have been an olympic record! Very sad...

Elrohir, are you coming next sunday in Zwolle ;-) Nice tournament with 15+ people.....

Heard about that. I feel bad for the coach, as well as the skater.

Wow. Who watched the Men's hockey gold medal game? Sidney Crosby scores in overtime, meaning Canada gets a 14th gold medal, which is more gold medals than have ever been won by a single country in one winter game.
That was a very good game.

I would suggest that the Canadian Women's Hockey Team is more badass than their men's team.

Also, Meghan Agosta (number 2) looks like Kate Hudson in hockey gear. Of course, at 5'6", 147 lbs, she would be a shorter, pudgier Kate Hudson.

Girls can be buff. But I don't think buff is any more of a compliment than pudgy.
