Sorry for borrowing some MtG terms, but is the target of an ability declared when it is announced, or when it resolves?
Example:
Enquea, LoM is in play with 2 wounds. I have 6 companions, one of which is Merry with 2 wounds. I have
unheeded in my hand. When Enquea exerts, what happens?
1) It exerts, wounds a companion, and then I kill it with
unheeded if he didn't hit Merry.
2) It exerts, he chooses a companion, and if he didn't choose Merry I can safely exert him to kill Enquea.
3) It exerts, I exert merry and kill him, and now he can choose to hit any companion (likely Merry).
I assume case 3 is correct, but I was not sure.
Second question: Do things that respond to costs of an ability trigger immediately, or when the ability is done?
Example: Merry has an
escape, and is fighting an
![Orc [Orc]](https://lotrtcgdb.com/forums/Smileys/classic/orc.png)
minion. There is a
demoralized in play, and there is no twilight. When Merry exerts, is the twilight added in time for the minion to cancel the ability?
Example two: Boromir exerts as a cost for
Defend it and Hope while
Stewards' Legacy is in play. Is the minion exerted, then wounded, or wounded, then exerted?
Third question: What happens to cards like
Saruman's Snows when the current site is changed because of
Traveled Leader?
Thankyou.
