Guys,

It's now or never. The beta of the website is about to go live. And all that is stopping me from giving the green light is that I'm not sure if the whole community really wants this PC.

If you appreciate the PC, want to see the beta site live, and is willing to do your bit of work, vote YES.

Otherwise, vote NO.

Cheers,
Kenddrick

P.S: If you say YES, then please do keep to your promise of doing your bit!

It depends on what is in the PC. Please list your goals with the website.

Some more specific information would be useful, but in the meantime YES!

If you need to be asking this question, do you really think there is enough interest in the PC?

PS...I'm not voting. You know my vote.

Hello, I've played LOTR TCG with several close friends since Mines of Moria came out.  We continue to play to this day.  They also play Star Wars CCG, but LOTR TCG was the first and only game I got into.  Just recently, I started wondering, if Star Wars CCG has a PC, doesn't LOTR TCG?  With the Decipher site down now for I don't remember how long, it's hard to know what the state of the game is at this point.  Things like deck lists, articles, virtual cards (to fix broken and X-listed cards), etc. are things that I think could help keep the game going.

In short, I didn't find a PC for LOTR TCG, but did find people here trying to make one.  I would like to help make this happen.  Kenddrick, I'll start with my deck lists.

Good to see someone new on the boards giving a resounding positive vote towards a PC.

TLHH does a great job giving support to the community but as a group we should expect more and should work together to achieve it.

I've sent Kenddrick my decklists.  So now I'm wondering, "What can I do right now to help?"
I'd like to see what this website for the PC currently contains and a list what is yet needed (so we have names of people next to the item(S) they are working on.  With this information often out-of-date and spread all over this forum, it's hard to know who is doing what, and what we need people to work on.

Kenddrick, if you are the individual setting up this website, please post a link.

Also, I think the "If you want to help..." pinned topic can act as the master list of what needs to be done, and who is working on each item.  TheJord could use the first post in that topic to act as this master list.  Organization will be key here with us spread all over the world.  Thanks!

I will inform the webmaster and arrange with him to get the beta site up asap. Plus, I will also try to get Troy's decklists up as quickly as I can.

In the meantime I will try to get screenshots up.

This is NOT the finished website. It's still in development phase, but the structure is done. Just need a bit of tuning.

Here we go:  (Note then you can scroll left and right as well)

It looks good. But still I might be missing something. Why not a section for LOTR by Decipher and a section for Lotr post Decipher? I think KTJ for example could agree more to this?

Hmm - Kenndrick there is a lot of bits and pieces in there that don't make sense - they are fictional.

Decipher has not approved a PC, there is no v-set called 'The Nine Walkers'

Is this what you are planning to put up? Everything must be factual if you are.

I recommend that those interested in helping set up the PC and its website participate in regular group meetings.

Using the chat channel "The Beginning" here at a set scheduled time, like once or twice a week, would allow us to have more efficient discussions.  Right around this time of the day works fine for me.

It would be best if the website you have so far is up at that point.  That would give us something concrete to look at.  During the first meeting we can talk over things like "overall goals", "what do we need" and then divide up who is doing what.

I can then post a summary of each meeting under a single locked topic so it is clear who is doing what.

Does that work for people?

Sounds good - time zones will be a barrier as we are located all over the world.

If we have enthusiastic members taking some of the discussion away from the fourms is a good idea.

I've been looking around at other PC websites and what Kenddrick has shown, I attached a screenshot of something I put together today.  What do people think of this type of information on the main page?

Hmm the software I'm using isn't that good, neither is my skill. I could trying hyperlinking the card database to the TLHH site though. :)

I think I'll continue working on this website to get it fully functional.  I haven't built a website for a while, so I think I'll be fun.  At best, people will like it and we can use it.  At worst, nobody likes it and I'll just use it myself.

:)

Question: Is it possible to buildin filters in the cards database. Something like Lotr online tcg has? That would be a big help for all of us. It also would attract more people to support the pc, because we provide a usefull tool then.

i like what you have there tbiesty  :gp:

one thing to consider however - if you plan on putting this up on the web be aware of Decipher's influence. They shut down an unsanctioned PC that operated for 1st Edition Star Trek because they were creating unsanctioned v-cards.

Decipher do still care about their property, but they have said they are willing to discuss the merits of a PC for LOTR and will allow the right people to operate a functional PC as they have already done for Star Wars and Star Trek.

That sounds okay. Btw v-cards are not our first priority I think. first let's organize. Then go to Decipher. Ask their permission and then start v-sets (after we know what we are allowed to do and what not) if need for1

If that is the case, I would like to be preemptive and ask Decipher about my plans for the site.  Does anyone have a Decipher contact I can check with?

I'd suggest you not use that Gandalf poster I made, simply because the website address contained in it is intended for my local play group and not necessarily for the PC at large.

I'm working with a couple others on developing the Bluegrass Format for playing LotR, which would be more of a homebrew that the PC would not want to necessarily advocate, especially if you're trying to create a uniform competitive structure.
