Introducing a different format

Greetings!

I've been trying to make other players on this forum aware of the fun way that my playing group plays LOTR TCG.  (I have a topic named "A fun way to play" on the "Bag End" forum that describes it).  In short, it is basically Open format with a mandatory virtual set to address the X-lists, broken combos, etc.  The goal of this format is to allow players to be able to use all the cards from all sets without the brokenness of Open format.

I would be interested in having a child forum in this Lothlorien forum for this "format" (just like what was done for "Austrian").  If someone that has authority on these forums to create a child forum would agree to do so, I can come up with a name for the format and write up an "About this format" post for it.   Thanks!

I'll try to answer both.  There are about 6 people that play regularly in our playing group, so that's how many people currently know about and play it; such a small number is why I want to share it with others.  Since I came up with the idea, I've also taken the lead to maintain this format (including the virtual set) and attempt to promote this format on these forums; I'd like to continue that.

I have no influence but here is what I can suggest you do. Tell your 6 friends to log in and post 3 decks each. And this subsection should have a sticky post with the erratas.

Not to be a downer, but I have no interest in the format, nor do I have any interest in seeing a child board for it. Why not just post some stuff here and if it takes off, it takes off?

Then it doesn't concern you. If others want to post their formats, they should be allowed to. Especially someone who has put so much effort into his format.

If what I need to get this started is to post decks, I can do that (I'll see if anyone else in my playing group is willing to create an account on TLHH and take the time out of their schedules to type up decklists to help me out).

I'll write up an "About this format" description and start posting decks when I have some more free time.  I guess I was just thinking a separate child forum would make for better organization and make it easier for others to learn my format.  But, one step at a time...

If its your format, its up to you to show to me that its worth a child board.

Austrian and Poorman's had interest when they were setup, so its also up to you to keep the interest.

How many posts have been made in the non-standard subforums recently? Poorman's and Austrian have been dead and it's not like people are going out of their way for Expanded either.

The point is, if you just had one "Other" folder, that solves everyone's problems. I don't see a problem with posting a new topic as: "Austrian- Deck Title" or "Poorman's - Deck Title," etc.

Ket has a point, that is why we have a "casual/other" board.  Heck, that is the whole point of the "other" portion of the message board title.  I mean, if you can rally support more power to you, but on the flip side, "other" is a blanket term for 'a fun way to play,' 'highlander,' 'culture shock,' and 'WDT.'

Ok, I'm starting to post my decks in the Casual/Other board.  Hopefully others will join in. :-)
