As the last Incognito, I know who it is.

Everyone who sends me a foil I am looking for on my trade list will get a clue. I will tell you one name from the TLHH Member list that is not Incognito.

Yesterday as I
watched
the TV
a quote struck me

"You either have grace, or you don't."

So simple
so elegant.
It would be a shame
if my victim
was not protected
over such a little thing.

It's macheteman. Dude, came on way too strong with the "last cop" thing.

Someone who can be a compitent Incognito should take over.

Sorry to ruin your game.

lol, ok i'm all fine with doing random stuff to get people off your track. thats the fun of the game. but, the game has been dead for ages, all of a sudden it is resurrected to life, you post a random thing about giving out clues for foils, incog has no problem with this, and suspiciously posts around the same time as you. then you jack this game, to start another, to remove any suspicion that you are the assassin. thats all fine, its very clever. of course i could be wrong about all that, i'm not sure.

but don't jack with me and say i'm an incompetent assassin when i've never PM-ed you in my freakin' life. and i haven't played the assassin game since i was the assassin back on Cobra Cards.

As far as the clue goes, any ideas from which TV show it comes from? It sounds vaguely familiar, but I dunno from where.

Makes sense. I see there's a few other references to Seinfeld in there. Strange though, I can't think of anyone that could be relatable to that show.

It's not an exact quote, but Jerry and George often say "that's a shame" when something unfortunate happens. I still can't find anyone related to the show, though. It may be a distraction rather than a clue.

Listen to me, Legolas.
If you just arrested TheJord
the man you thought was me,
he was an innocent bystander
minding his own business
until today,
until this hour.
That wasn't me.
His arrest
and suspicion
were kept secret
from watching eyes,
and went unposted
even in this thread.
Even I had no way
of knowing
about his suspected guilt
it seems…
But I, Incognito,
do in fact exist.
So come on!
Catch me if you can.

I've been reading and rereading what incognito posted above... and I'm positive that it's from a TV show or movie (although changed accordingly)... so frustrating... I know I've heard it and recently too, but I can't remember from where. Maybe monster? I'll do a check.

Someone arrest this guy. The only person who would know that I'm not Incog would either have to be incog, or the person who was incog prior to him.

Some time ago I got murdered during CC and I didn't even know it because I was inactive. We need to add some sort of funny consequence to the victim's account. Maybe a RIP avatar or a graveyard theme.... ;)

It wasn't without probable cause:

I think I want to spice this game up again. Or at least try. I'll be the nexxt Incognito. I know, I know, you must be thinking: "Duh! He just SAID he is the next one!". Yes, I WILL be the next one, and I'll post as Incognito when suitable. However, I'm going to NAME a member of the site (ANY registered member, not only active ones) as Incognito, and give clues to let you guess who he is. I might change the game rules a bit, tweak it to fit this idea better, so I'm wondering if you, guys, who liked this game, would be up for the challenge, and if you think it could work this way.

PS: If you do, I'll prepare the game so main posts are made within schedule.

... which would still mean that arresting you wouldn't work. We'd have to find who you're using.

My next victim

Oh,

Yes,
I DO keep

Therefore all
blackmarks
are removed.
In addition,
since Lurtzy

he gets a free
arrest, with no
fear of a blackmark.

A little moth
once told me,
that this could happen.
That,
in the midst of my glory
the potential
to be caught
was great.
That the great flaw
in this game
would reveal my identity.
That through
many factors,
some beyond my control,
Lurtzy would become
a suspect.
No doubt,
several clues could
lead to that assumption.
But not all of them do.
Not the important ones,
anyway.
Macheteman
I gave you another arrest
thinking this could,
that this would
happen.
For me,
everything is
falling into place.
Unfortunately,
you know what
that means for you,
my dear copper.
A black mark,
again.

Your frustration is
understandable,
but misguided.
I leave clues
to my identity
in
nearly every round.
You just have to look
in the right places.
You were onto
one of them earlier.
Let things pan out,
keep watching,
and enjoy the show
and you won't believe
what you can find.

Another kill
another... celebration.
Gentlemen,
let's move on.

So what of
Elessar?
They whisper
Every night
amongst themselves
of "big plans".
Wishful thinking,
fortunately.
Even if he was
the first among them all,
it would not
have made a difference.
Look at what
they have done.
Look!
With your own eyes...
and tell me
who the real
assassin is.
3 days.

Oh, and coppers?
The cake was
delicious.
Pity
I didn't share.

Basically the assassin leaves clues to a username on this site. We (the cops) have to protect that person before the time is up (he usually gives us a certain amount of days, in his post). On top of that, he should be leaving clues to his identity as well, so we can arrest him. It's strange that I arrested ES and neither him nor incognito have posted if I'm right or not.

A clue
is a clue.
Each
could solve this
riddle
if they only
knew
where to look.

Moving on...
No,
I am not
Elessar's Socks.
I am not any of these.
But I am one of
you.
One of the
many posters
who found this place.
Was it luck,
or was it fate?
You decide.
Oh, and let's give
the coppers
2 more days.
They seem
to need it.

Another black mark,
then.
My my, coppers
you're running out

to arrest.
Bad for you,
hilarious for me.

It is unfortunate
that my last victim
was killed,
after all
TheJord
was indeed
the one
who deserved
to be
promoted.
And
yet,
it was
all for naught.

My next victim
is the caretaker
of #5517; Pontoise.
Save him

It is a good idea,
nay
it is necessary
for the assassin
to be
successful,
to know what
the coppers
are thinking.
Generally
this means
the assassin
is one of the cops.
But
you've all
disproved that.
You've all
gone
and arrested
each other.
What a mess.
And yet,
I still watch.
I know
what you think,
how you think.
What,
do you believe
that my rounds
are random?
That my methods
are spur of the moment?
Everything
is calculated.
Everything.
So, as I wait
for Lurtzy and itjunkie,
do not think
everything will continue
as planned.

So what am I?
Look at me.
LOOK at me.
The monster inside
me
has grown
this big.
Chomp, chomp,
munch, munch,
gobble, gobble,
gulp.

Now,
I will not wait.
Enola was
my next victim.
And he is saved.
Remember,
it has been three rounds.
Has it not been proven?
Without a doubt?
Indeed, it has.

More on
my next victim
shortly,
gentlemen.

An interesting choice.
So each cop
has a
black mark now.
The next arrest
will lead to
an early retirement
methinks.
But I don't like that.
My goal was
to be
the first.
The first
that killed
all the cops.
And I
will be
the first
to truly
win this game.
So I guess
that
brings us to
our next round.
Next two,
actually.

My first
was sent
to the cops
via messages.
We don't want
peekers,
now do we?

As for my second,
I'll admit I
did not want
to come back
to him.
But,
he was the third
to do it.
And it's so much
of an eye sore
to leave him
all by his lonesome.
So, coppers,
If you want to help,
because TheJord
no longer can,
you should be
heading off to
Montgomery
right about now.
3 days.

After much
deliberation...
I have decided
to let
legolas3333 live.
But,
he was the
first clue.
It does not matter
anyway,
my real target,
Ranofer,
is finally dead.
It only took
forever.

David is done.
Now comes the
hard part.
After all,
it could be anything.
Next victim soon.

I've made some...

I hope you like.

I notice that no one has arrested macheteman, even after I told you it was him...

...yet he arrests a fellow cop to "make sure..."

This game could have been over a month ago.

And so, 15.
I always imagined
Kralik
to live
in a shoe.
And just
a single.
Now,
the type...
that was where
things became
less clear.
Was it velcro?
Leather?
I could not

My strategy

was simple.
As was my clue.
The king is dead,
Kralik that is.
Two down,
one to go.
Expect
another clue

It is in my own interest to remind you that Mr. Lurtzy, Gil-Estel, legolas3333, and myself are "Kings" based on the TLHH ranking system.

Not good, either.

the spear is long,
The arrow swift,

It's time to begin.

And thus, another wasted arrest. You know, having worked a whole year SOLELY with murder lawsuits, if you were real detectives, Internal Affairs would have quite a few things to say to you guys (and not in a nice way), what with arresting the same wrong people over and over again...

Good logic,

But it couldn't save
my first
policeman killed.
legolas is dead.
No longer
of the woodland realm.

All coppers
are now arrested.

But my
previous statements
were all true.
I shall not lie.

Let's take
a brief break.
In three days,
I'll give another
clue.
Until then,

I wasn't

Suprising though

Seems like that

As for my

my disapperance

But don't worry,

So even the mods are bored now? Is it because they know Incognito's IP address and have decided that it is glaringly obvious who he is?

Or are they just bored?

My clues are
not so hard.
If I had
greater cops,
such as AgentDrake
or Elessar's Socks,
I would have
never been so
bold.
I think
anyone could
make an
easy guess
at who I am.
Yes,
the mods know
my IP.
But's it's not
as simple
as you think.

Oh,
and macheteman...
deadlineses are for
a purpose, yes.
Smeagollum was
killed
two days ago.
You can
protect the body
but that'll
do no good.

Not to mention, if this Incognito is adopting my proposed system, knowing his IP will do nothing (and also, it alows for mods to play the game, which is always a plus).

Now then,

It seems
we have come
to a standstill.
My easy clues
are solved
almost
100% of the
time.
My hard clues
are solved
almost
never.
My identity clues
seem
to have gone over
your heads.
I've given
three
clues to who
I am,
that should have
easily pointed
to my
identity.
Were it so easy.
So now,
I think I'll do
something different.
It may take
some time to
set up.
But, it will
be worth it.
To me,
at least.
Remember, you
have
3 or 4 arrests,
so take
some guesses,
before your ends.
What harm will
that do?
I'm sure Felipe is
already expecting
to fill in
the duties
required
of such
wanton arresting.
So, then gents,
keep watch,
for soon
I will end this.
End you.

Oh and yes,
krillinfan
was my target.
It was an easy clue,
so I expected
as much.

"It's a funny thing, fear. Not something that can be created... that's something <REDACTED> never understood. No, fear resides in us all. Always. And to even the most powerful among us, this primal urge is a powerful motivator... You and I both know this well. After all, being born in blood has some damaging effects... which I think we can both attest to."

Good,
isn't it?
An early
transcript
from a great writer.
Obscure, perhaps
but don't let
that
take away
from its
signifigance.
And really,
to think
the final is
even better.

I've been gone
a long time.
Yes, over the
past few weeks
I've continued
with a few killings,
here and there
but I was not here.
I was not "me".
Well, darlings...
I'm back.
And it's time
for the
good life
to keep on rolling.

To stall you,
for I doubt you
have
any leads on me,
I've prepared
a new victim.
After all,
I don't want to be
myself,
running and worrying
while in DC.
No,
I want to relax.
Coppers will
however,
need to work hard
to save my
next few.
That is
your duty,
your calling.
And make some
arrests.
Collecting them up,
will do no good
in the short run,
nor the long run.
1 day,
gents.

...actually,
a litle over
a day.
My next
comes at
9:42 PM
tomorrow night.
Be ready.

Now,
each of the next
rounds
has no
time limit.
You may
only protect 1
person
each round.
Protect the
wrong one,
and my victim
dies.
Miss three
rounds in
a row,
and a cop
dies,
without warning.

Sion,
of the
triumvirate
he was.
Second in
stature
Third in
dignity.

And
make some
arrests,
gents...
otherwise
you can't win.
And that would be
such a shame.

No other
assassin
has ever won.
Sure,
a few
have gotten
all the cops
to arrest
too many
and get
kicked off.
Sure,
some have
killed themselves
to remain
unknown.
But they
are,
all of them,
cowards.
Only I
have put
myself
out in the
open
for so long,
and remain
untouched.
And we can
not blame
that all on
copper
incompetency.
I was not
lying when
I said
it would be
me,
who would be
the first
to win this game.
And,
I meant
what I said.

Clever macheteman,
as always.
My victim
was not
Malachi.
He will
join the
other two
in
the perfect
Trinity.
But I fear
my subtlety
beyond all
your
comprehensions.
Most,
anway.

My next victim?
Yeah, he's here.
You just
have to
look
LOOK!

Oh, and here's
something
for those who
wondered,
of my last
victim.
Consider this
my homage,
to a
fellow traveller:

Quote
My first righteous kill
Fantastical as starred skies
Goodbye, Dwarf-master

Good day,
gentlemen.
And no,
I'm not
hawkeye,
nor
"everyone".
Singularity,
I think,
is
more on par.

You bastard. Good job macheteman. I don't want to die.

And for your betrayal, Incognito, I think I might as well end this game. Here's an oldie-but-a-goodie that helped me piece everything together, cops. Enjoy:

Quote from: Incognito
With regards to what you said ealier ket, no that wasn't the bigamous hut. I'd rather it was, but sadly it could only be related to change the world, or BB. I'm unsure. If you want me to continue the killings of the PC members, I'll do that, but I think the cops are getting closer to figuring that out. So I'll take a break from it for now. As to your other guess, I am not Felipe nor menace. But I do appreciate the guesses. Until next time...

Cheers.

Lol, what happened was, the killer was Mr. Lurtzy using a proxy username. after a while of the game being dead, I got the password and read a bunch of the PMs from the account. But i changed the password and can't remember what it is now.

but I even have Mr. Lurtzy's PM that verifies he was the killer.

I thought about something similar a few months ago, a mash-up of the 20 questions game and this one: the assassin picks a minion and drops clues about its identity and which FP character it's going to kill. Might work better in an environment with fewer active players since the age of forum games has passed.

At any rate, I'm up for doing something sometime. Welcome back, by the way!
