Undomiel, True Evenstar
« on: October 27, 2010, 06:30:09 AM »
Ok, as mentioned in my 'article' I think Undomiel has her use in decks. Here is my attempt.

*The One Ring, Answer To All Riddles (4R1)
*Galadriel, Bearer of Wisdom (RB)(9R+14)

Sites
(1R)Rohirrim Road (7U332)
(2R)Rohirrim Camp (7U336)
(3R)Hall of the Kings (7U339)
(4R)Pelennor Plain (7U343)
(5R)Pelennor Flat (7U345)
(6R)Minas Tirith Seventh Circle (7U350)
(7R)Pelennor Grassland (7U354)
(8R)Cross Roads (7U356)
(9R)Dagorlad (7U360)

Fellowship (35)
3x *Elrond, Keeper of Vilya (6R15)
1x *Erestor, Chief Advisor To Elrond (3C14)
2x *Galdor, Councilor From The West (3U18)
2x *Golradir, Councilor Of Imladris (3U20)
1x *Aiglos (9R+12)
1x *Narya, Ring of Fire (9R19)
2x *Nenya, Ring of Adamant (9R20)
1x *Vilya, Ring of Air (9R+23)
1x *Arwen, Lady Undomiel (3R8)
2x *Cirdan, The Shipwright (10R8)
2x *Gil-Galad, Elven High King (9R+15)
1x *Glorfindel, Revealed in Wrath (9R+16)
1x *Naith Warband (6R23)
1x *Glimpse of Fate (10U12)
2x Alliance Reforged (4R58)
1x Curse Their Foul Feet!(1R36)
4x Forearmed (6U16)
2x Secret Sentinels (2R20)
2x Stand Against Darkness (1U63)
1x *Asfaloth (1U31)
1x *Gwemegil (1R47)
1x Elven Sword (4C64)

Shadow (35)
3x Fierce in Despair (7R148)
2x Quelled (10R46)
2x Red Wrath (7U157)
4x *Castamir of Umbar (8R51)
4x Black Numenorean (8R49)
1x Corsair Gunners (8C55)
2x Corsair Lookout (8U56)
3x Corsair Plunderer (8R58)
4x Black Sails of Umbar (8R50)
2x Corsair War Galley (8U59)
2x Raider Bow (7C155)
3x Raider Halberd (7C156)
3x Ships of Great Draught (8R65)

I always find my self in a tough spot when building decks. I want my shadow to work and my fellowship to work. To work as in being able to bring the game home. The result? Loss of focus, because I want to do both. So my shadow is often almost there, as is my fellowship.
As I ran by the options for Undomiel I noticed Elrond, KoV. In an all [Elven] deck he is great. The point is though, you might be ending up discarding your shadow. Normally I would be bothered, now I do not -really- care. As long I can get my hand on at least 1 ships of great draught, I am fine. Ditch all yellow cards in your shadow turn -or you must have such a great hand and an insane amount of pool that you can release the angry flood- to add tokens on ships of great draught. This will help to set up your fellowship. Once set up, it must be able to endure a lot. At least it can win skirmishes.

Obviously there are weak spots. Think of Easterlings, or perhaps ninja gollum, but I think it is quite a solid deck.

Comments most welcome as always....

I love this Arwen and I''m glad somebody else is trying to make her work too.  The only couple things I can see to do is maybe take out Curse Their Foul Feet for a Naith Longbow.  On the Naith Warband that would be pretty useful.  The other being if burdens are a problem, maybe take out one Stand Against the Darkness for Sam, SoH.  Otherwise I like it.

But...they are complementary to Arwen. An enduring Servant of the Secret Fire if you will.
