Uruk Hai machine/token
« on: December 12, 2010, 02:08:03 AM »
Hi guys,

I've been browsing over my collection when I noticed that I had a lot of those berserks from set 5. anybody have a good decklist for those cards? I got devilry of orthanc, berserk savage, berserk slayer, berserk butchers...

One of my favorites was MuadDib's deck. It didn't actually use tokens at all...rather, it got its exerts from playing cards like Saruman's Snows and Spies of Saruman.

It was a pretty cool and original idea.

Here is that decklist. Although it has changed a little from the one Ket is talking about.

It doesn't really fit with your title as there are no machines or tokens, but there are berserkers. This is a fun deck to play and fairly successful.

Shadow (37)
2x Greed (1R125)
3x Saruman's Snows (1C138)
3x Spies of Saruman (1R140)
1x Caradhras Has Not Forgiven Us (1R123)
4x Sack of the Shire (9R40)
1x Saruman's Power (1U136)
3x *Berserk Butcher (6R60)
4x *Berserk Rager (5U45)
3x *Berserk Savage (5R46)
3x *Berserk Slayer (5R47)
1x *Grima, Wormtongue (4R154)
2x *Saruman, Servant Of The Eye (3C69)
3x Uruk Stormer (4C198)
4x Broad-bladed Sword (4C142)

berserk rager x3
berserk savage x3
berserker slayer x3
devilry of Orthanc x3
Grima wormtongue

i played against Jdizzy's deck, and it was pretty good, he probably would've won if i hadn't been playing the moria navy, but I think that you (Jdizzy or itjunkie) should change the Uruk Sapper to Uruk Engineer, better strength, same ability and twilight didn't seem like much of a problem

I agree. In fact, I plan on changing it out. for 1 extra twilight you get 2 more str, that's a good trade off.

Is sack of the shire in this deck mainly for getting minions fierce? there seems to be no site control element to the deck...

completely.  your other option is an event or a condition which cost 3 twilight as opposed to 1

Sort of a good example.

Hunt Them Down makes the minion fierce no matter what and can be activated during the maneuver phase. Sack of the Shire only works if the minion wins a skirmish. Granted, Sack of the Shire is a way better card, but is it better than Savagery to Match Their Numbers? Probably not.
