How important is TLHH/GCCG to you?

i check the forums daily.  i've backed off on GCCG but that is because AFROTC and college is taking up my "free" time.  I would be sad if GCCG vanished, but I would be very sad to see TLHH disappear.  However, if the hosts, servers, and moderators are all vanishing then we really don't have much of a choice, eh?

Me too! I still visit often, but I do not post as often, either, mainly because my collecting days are pretty much over - save for the odd trade here and there. I would like to post more deck ideas and comment on others' ideas, but there are much more knowledgeable people around and I don't have that much experience, so there you are.

TLHH is the last remaining LotR TCG community on the web. Even if some old members fade away, there are some newbies from time to time looking for information, decks, tips or cards. And if this communiy dies, this is the virtual end of LotR TCG on the net...

So please keep this forum and the card database up and running!

I am one of those who accidentally googled lotr tcg forum about a week ago and found out the active forum (found couple of them who are completely dead, no one posted from 2005/2006) and then gccg... I think that there are lot of nostalgic people like me who didn't play or heard for the game in the last 5-6-7 yrs and then just came across free online server that has active users...

Before I found this forum I thought my friend and me were the only people left in the whole world who played LotR TCG and I loved the game, loved the cards and wished I knew about it sooner (I started playing when Return of the King came out).

Then, just a little over a year ago, I found this site and the forum and GCCG. It made my life much more happier because I really love the game and being able to play it every day with all sorts of different people was fantastic. I care a great deal about them both and am willing to go to great lengths to keep them alive. People call soccer the most important secondary thing in the world, but to me that's LotR TCG!

For those who say TLHH lives up to its name ("The Last Homely House...")... wasn't there an active French/European LotR community? Maybe Zorbec's?

I read the site daily, usually more than once a day, and I post maybe every other day or so.  I've been playing GCCG a lot lately, mostly at night.  I'd be really sad if I couldn't use this site or play on GCCG anymore.  I have nobody else around where I live to play with.  I'm hopeful someone can do something to help keep this site and GCCG going.

I think it's kinda sad that we need such a topic to get attention of the "old guys"...

Anyway, it's been a while, and I must admit I already feel like one of the veterans. For a couple of months, I think I was like one of the most active members on the boards (besides ket, of course), and as you might think, I really don't have much free time to spare. I'm doing my last year at school, but then, I think I might return for a year or so. As it seems, I'm counting myself to the "veterans", even though it was just about 13 months ago when I really got into LotR TCG.

Anyway, I also agree on the point that there will always be random people looking for information about LotR TCG, and as I did a bit more than a year ago, will find this site and enjoy it as much as I did. And we should be really thankful to people like ket who stay here and keep the forums alive, giving the same advice over and over again that a Deck like Hobbit Hospital isn't considered to be the best Deck in Extended or that they shouldn't play Lightfoodness to have "an answer to archery" and so on.

Still, I think that this community is not just something normal, it's really a place where you try to have fun, learn something about the game and try to get something back we lost a long time ago.

So then, those were my two (or maybe more) cents. Hope to see you again in the near future.

I would say one thing though, this is probably slightly skewed toward people who use the forum seeing as those who use exclusively GCCG probably don't even know about this poll

Haha! I figured that when I wrote it. There are a few players like jmccarthy that play GCCG almost exclusively, but still have a forum account, though.

I want to keep playing Gccg. I'd prefer it if it could been integrate in tlhh.

To me it should not be the question how important is gccg and tlhh to you, but the question should be how will we solve the problem of the servers. As mentioned in an other topic: I have a spare pc, but it needs to be cleaned up and it has get linux on it. Also I dont know if my inet is good enough for hosting a server for gccg.

So another question should be what do we need for keeping gccg up and running.

I haven't been addicted to playing GCCG as much as in the old days, but I'd hate to see everyone else lose out. But here's a thought (stirring up the waters):

That PC conversation that keeps going around in circles? If GCCG is tied to TLHH, why not just have a GCCG/TLHH Player's Group?

Man I was really disappointed to find out GCCG was going offline.  When I found it for the first time this summer, I was really excited to have a chance to play other people besides my brother.  I found TLHH by a google search one day and I became a member instantly.  I really wish I had more time to build decks to post, but school has seen to that.  I would really hate to see this community go because it's really keeping interest in LotR alive and without this, most people probably wouldn't keep playing because of the lack of players in their area.  I know I let LotR go when I had no one to play, but since I found this I found that I missed out on so much when I left and I've been trying to back to where I left off.

I really hope we can get together to find a way to keep both of these alive!
