I've been thinking mostly of Movie Block, but that is a good point. Perhaps just be rather selective in removing a single card from each infiloop.

I think others loops are fine, but the hornfilter needs only a site, Gamling, and Smeagol. You still have to work hard to get Treebeard going: you need 3  [Gandalf] companions + Treebeard and 2 conditions, even if you are lucky enough to draw SftF, and pull PPP with it to use it again next turn, it is still hard, and you have to use a lot of suboptimal cards, and still the loop only starts working in the regroup. Getting infi Erland online can be a little bit easier, but it is quite vulnerable to condition discard, and with only one shire countryside you can't heal your freeps.

I feel like 90% of highlander decks in Movie Block would be simple swarm.

Generally, highlander include all the 19 sets, and I think there are at least as good options for shadow sides with the newer cards as swarm (I would rather play Gollum with a lot of fatties, or corruption for example, but I'm the guy, who hates playing swarm, so don't mind me :p).

EDIT: regarding the horn loop: I think that the banning of New Chapter is the best option.

Back in the day (on LotRO) i played in a few highlander tournamnets.  Two shadow sides did very well for me 1) Uruks and 2) Gollum.

I played some highlander games on GCCG in the past month (not much, about 10), and seems like most players who played this format before are using the expanded X-list, which totally makes sense, it prevents most loops, and it is not as confusing as having a separate list. (in the format regulations thread of Lothlorien it says that all cards are allowed)

Btw the format rocks, so I can only recommend it to anyone.
