Selling Ginormous Collection
« on: May 15, 2011, 04:44:40 PM »
I am finally selling off my collection. I was a product champion and have shirts, pins, promos, etc. of stuff. Mostly LOTR but I do have some limited Wars and Trek stuff too. I have a collection of cards that fills up a huge rubbermaid container and the largest card box the gaming store has. I have sleeves of almost every color and deck boxes. I have foreign language cards in 2 deck boxes. In other words, you name it, I probably have it. I kept about 8 copies of everything. I have well over $1,000 in product and well over 10,000 cards. (my bank book can attest to how much I have personally spent.)

I refuse to post on Feepay because the prices are just too expensive. I normally sell on bonanza.com but the gaming community traffic is really not there. I would like to see my collection go to someone who can appreciate how beautiful these cards are. I will entertain the idea of selling cards and other items individually.

I am more than happy to provide photos and consider all offers. I am not up for listing every single card, it would just be too tedious. Serious queries please.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me query emails. I am sorting through the requests, but there have been many and getting to them may take some time.

A few have asked about sets 17-18. I should have placed this in my initial posting- but I only have up through set 12. I stopped playing then.

I do have an unopened Tengwar set, 1 open tengwar set, several DAgent exclusives - like Gimli eagle hunter (damage +1, hunter3; Legolas, Aragorn. I have DGMA Premeire series cards, and tournament director exclusives - like Lurtz.

I have taken some generic photos and went ahead and listed them here: http://www.bonanza.com/booths/Packing Pagan I have 2 entries for the photos I took. The photos are not the best, but they get the point across.

Again, anything specific, please ask.

Please bear with me as I sort through the email inquiries.

I have an excel spreadsheet with all of the cards left in my collection delineated. There are over 12,000 cards.
There is a column with the # in total for that card. There are separate columns for the number of foils, # of Foreign cards, and autographed cards.

The column indicating # of total is inclusive of the foils, autographed, and foreign cards.
The autographed cards range from autographs of the developers of the game, to Sean Astin's autograph on a  Sam card and Sala Baker's autograph on a ring card. These were signed at Comic con in 2003.

The spreadsheet will not upload here, so please contact me with an email address in which to send the file.

All cards are in mint/near mint condition. Cards have either been in sleeves or protector pages, or next to other cards in card boxes.

You can see some photographs http://www.bonanza.com/booths/Packing Pagan here.

Enjoy.

Wars cards are completely gone. I have the tee shirts for each of the cultures given to Decipher volunteers during the release event. That's all I have left of Wars.

Here is a list of the Trek cards I have. All are foil, none have ever been played. I got them in a toploader and they have stayed in a toploader.

Parek  privileged legate 12R50 x5

Palor Toff Trader  0D7

Data Aspirer  1 r 259

Seven of nine: representative of the hive 0p31
DecipherCon 2005

Borg Queen Bringer of Order 0p27
Decipher Convention 2005

Michael Eddington: Loyal Leader 0D6

Jean Luc Picard 0p73 x2

If you have the time: provide tips on how best to sort through an enormous collection?

I know the value of using Excel but would prefer not to use it....seeing as how in most of these forums people want the full list present in the posts.

At the moment I have a sprawling collection in huge white boxes, clear plastic sheets, numerous official boxes (you know, the Gandalf hat collector's version from Fellowship Deluxe, etc), and the booster pack boxes. Sorting through it will be a time-consuming (and dusty) challenge. I'm guessing you were far more organized than me, since you have tourney experience. Was your collection entirely in nice neat binders?

I feel your pain I have several card boxes, official game boxes, binders all loaded down with cards. My foils and foreign cards were even separate from the others in other boxes. I had all cards already divided by culture and had titles mostly together- 8 'Hate's all together.

It still took me over two weeks, and sometimes 12 hour days, to sit and count and then put them into excel. It was tedious and cumbersome. I did find some stray rares in with the commons and uncommons. And you are correct, these forums want lists in the threads. Somehow me writing - "if you name it set 1-12 I probably have it" is still not satisfactory. But I am unwillingly to spend all that extra time to write them up for a forum thread. If someone is interested, I prefer to send them the excel spreadsheet. It beats listing 12000+ cards in a forum.

Good luck to you.

Sorting sucks.

I've spent the last couple of weeks sorting about 30,000+ Star Wars CCG cards to add to my website.

I just thank god that Excel exists. I couldn't even imagine doing it without...
All of my extra Lord of the Rings TCG, MECCG, SWCCG, and WoW TCG singles are available for sale on my website: http://www.ccg-singles.com

Email sent!  Hopefully, something mutually agreeable can be arranged!
