Pet Cards
« on: September 13, 2008, 08:46:01 PM »
So...what are your pet cards? Do you...

1. Like collecting them?
2. Love staring at their foil awesomness?
3. Try to cram 'em in every deck possible?

For me, I love collecting Verily I Come, love staring at the foil awesomness of Southron Explorer, and try to cram a Grima, Footman of Saruman in every [Men] deck. :D

Anyone else? We know menace likes maggots and Dain likes cards with acronyms longer than most card's name, and M_H liked Mordor Enraged. But...anyone else?

The Witch King, Lord of the Nazgul (foil) is my favorite card.
I only keep 4 of him though, not ridiculous amounts, and I don't touch him and chant "my precious..."

Ask NK about his Her Ladyship collection... :o

For some reason I have about 8 Gate Troll AI, not because I like it. In fact I think I'm going to start giving them away. Any takers?

There aren't really any cards I collect, except maybe Hobbit Swords. If anyone has a FOIL Hobbit sword I want it!

As for "pet cards," I absolutely love Birthday Present, it goes in all of my [Shire] decks. Gamling, Defender of the Hornburg is another one that always starts when I make a [Rohan] deck.

But I suppose the most universal card in all of my decks is Trollshaw Forest. Never make a site path without it.

There are few cards more foily awesome than NFH, and Gollum's shiny foiled eyes.

Trollshaw is just about the only constant in my decks, though. Frodo, PbM is pretty common, too.
Forget it. I'm not arguing with the computer anymore to try to get the sig I want....

I use In Twilight more than is probably recommended in my many [Wraith] decks.

I also LOVE the healing of Invigorated and toss it into any deck where it is even halfway appropriate.

And then, of course, there is Nine-fingered Frodo and the Ring of Doom. My love for that card is like John Madden's love for Brett Favre.

Might be one or two more, but those are the odd ones that jump out at me right away.
Best regards,
Dáin

Check out Lasting Alliances and The Road Ahead, my two completed DC sets, and also The Way Into Mordor (in progress), all part of my 5-set Wars of the Ring DC "block".

Not This Time!  White Hand Guard, Ulaire Lemenya, ET, Throne of Isengard (actually all the thrones),  Violent Hurl...

Some cards that annoy me because they are too good (but I still use :P):  Ithilien Blade, Rapid Reload, Namarie...

Funny thing, I actually traded away my Gate Troll along with a Lurtz and a Flame of Udun and couple other rares for a
Blood runs Chill and a Simbelmyne.

LOL Yeah, its fun to be playing a Dwarf deck, then you drop Strands and they go "that's an elf card"

Yeah...

"Why are you running it with Dwarves?"

But its also sweet paired with Delving for the people who can't afford NP, NS. Maxes out the card draw anyways.
