hey i had some other ideas for ways to do leagues...one thing is, when a league is 3 or 4 weeks long sometimes you lose interest in it if you're not winning, or you can lose interest in the format in general. now, i like those leagues and i don't want to abandon them, but i did have another idea:
since many players play lotr because of the nostalgia, how about having a one week long league that is a constructed league based around the meta of a historical event?
such as, worlds 2003 league. make it have the same (or as close as we can remember) format as worlds 2003 did, with the same x-list (and possibly the same errata, or not, i dunno). just one week long, low or free entry cost and very small prize payout, more heavily weighted to the top.
so like origins the first year we would probably skip since it was mirror of galadriel origins, but the next year's origins was a great tournament, i think it was one of the first post xlist tourneys.
basically, the idea is quick one week long leagues that give lower prizes, with lower entry costs, that showcase a boutique format, to mix things up. fun stuff like, post ttt, pre xlist, which we as players back in the day got to play with for a while, with a big pro tourney (vegas i think), but isn't possible to play with on gemp-lotr right now (as a real format). or even something like post reflections movie block, pre banning of
aggression (this is an extreme example but it was the format for origins that year and it was one of my favorite tourneys of all time). give people the chance to play BROKEN DWARVES! but only for a week-long league.
