Just wondering if Pippin, Steadfast companion can spot Banner of the White Tree and Nine fingered frodo and the ring of doom for his strength bonuses. Thanks!

Pippin, Steadfast Friend needs to spot tales, and even though both cards are tales, they are events, meaning they don't exist in game at any given time, they are either in a discard pile, removed from the game, in a player's hand or in the void (when you play them and they are waiting to resolve), so there is no place where Pippin can spot them.
