The fact that you timed out a game is bad, but the reason you get the 3-day ban as your first warning is the flagrant nature of the violation.  You obviously have knowledge of how the site works, and abusing it while deliberately taunting your opponent in the game hall crosses the line from accident to malicious behavior.  That kind of maliciousness is not tolerated.  Do not do it again.
