« on: September 19, 2013, 06:14:21 PM »
Alright so there's two cards Gwemegil and Hadafang, in both of the cards pictures the same sword is held by Arwen. Has anyone else noticed this? Also what is its actual name.

From the LotR Wiki on Hadafang:
'This sword does not appear in the books, Weta Workshop created it and its back-story by the filmmakers for Peter Jackson's film trilogy The Lord of the Rings, based on J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings novels.
The name Hadhafang is a newly coined Sindarin word meaning "throng-cleaver".'

However, Gwemegil doesn't have a strog root in the mythos either:

Hmm, very interesting. I assumed one of them had to be made up. I assumed Gwemegil to be the "real" since it was release in the Fellowship of the Ring block. I'm not to familiar with Tolkien's history of Middle-Earth. But am reading the LOTR series for the second time now. Thank you Air Power, will definitely give you a coin!
