Knight/Nazgul
« on: January 27, 2014, 08:41:48 AM »
Here is my idea,

Starting:
1x Isildur, Bearer of Heirlooms
1x The One Ring, Ring of Rings
1x Knight of Dol Amroth
1x Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith

Sites:
1x Fangorn Glade
1x The Angle
1x Slag Mounds
1x Hill of Sight
1x Helm's Gate
1x Osgiliath Reclaimed
1x Old Forest Road
1x Trollshaw Forest
1x City of Kings

Fellowship:
1x Elendil, High King of Gondor
2x Anarion, Lord of Anorien
2x Aragorn, Captain of Gondor
1x Boromir, Hero of Osgiliath
2x Garrison of Gondor
2x Narsil, Blade of the Faithful
1x Ring of Barahir
4x Sapling of the White Tree
1x Scroll of Isildur
3x Armor of the White City
1x Bow of Minas Tirith
1x Flaming Brand
2x Gondorian Steed
1x Knights Spear
1x Rangers Cloak
1x Not Bound To His Fate
1x The Saga of Elendil
1x Heirs of Gondor
2x Banner of the White Tree
2x Banners Blowing
4x Sentinels of Numenor

Shadow:
4x The Witch King, Lord of the Nazgul
1x Ulaire Attea, Second of the Nine Riders
2x Ulaire Cantea, Black Assasin
2x Ulaire Enquea, Thrall of the One
2x Ulaire Enquea, Ringwraith in Twilight
1x Ulaire Nelya, Fell Rider
1x Ulaire Nelya, Thrall of the One
1x Ulaire Nertea, Dark Horseman
2x Ulaire Nertea, Messenger of Dol Guldur
1x Ulaire Otsea, Ringwraith in Twilight
1x Ulaire Toldea, Winged Sentry
2x Black Flail
2x Morgul Blade
2x Shadowy Mount
2x The Pale Blade, Sword of Flame
1x The Witch King's Beast, Fell Creature
2x Blade Tip
2x Black Breath
1x Drawn to Its Power
1x A Shadow Fell Over Them
2x Sense of Obligation
1x Unending Life
2x Dark Powers Strengthen
3x Keening Wail

The overall strategy of the fellow ship is to have Denethor exert twice on the first sanctuary.  Then you will have both Elendil and Narsil early in the game.

The strategy of the shadow is to head straight for the fellowship's throat.  How you win is by either killing the ringbearer or corrupting the ringbearer.  Cards like Ulaire Enquea, Ringwraith in Twilight and The Witch King, Lord of the Nazgul wound the ringbearer easily. Ulaire Nertea, Messenger of Dol Guldur brings them back from the discard pile.  Cards with toil exert your enduring nazgul therefore adding burdens with Ulaire Enquea, Trall of the One.

"Do you ever wonder why we are here?  Maybe you're here because it is the only place you fit in.  Maybe you're here because you have nowhere else to go.  Maybe you're here because deep down, you want to be here.  It doesn't matter why you're here.  All that matters is that you are here!"

How good is your cycling? Cause it seems a bit on the huge side. Unless I have crazy cycling, nazgul dont go over 35.

This is only a 41/41 card deck.  That is not very big compared to other decks. Also if you play against a discarding based deck (like Dwarf/Mordor), it is almost guaranteed to run out of cards before the end.

Not bad.  One of my favorite decks was always Knight/T.Naz, though I ran 31/31 IIRC (using Forts).

I have a similar deck:
But my Knight deck uses Hard Choice at the Sanctuary to heal Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith and use him this way 6 or 7 times :-)

I like this deck, seems like a pretty solid construction.
Although I find non-Frodo ring bearers always a bit risky.
